5 out of 5 starsI've seen Marie's work on Etsy and FB, and when I needed decor for a French-themed guest room, I knew that I had to have one of her fleur-de-lis switchplate covers. It's PERFECT, with sculpted detail and delivery as I requested. A wonderful artist, with whimsical, OOAK art!

5 out of 5 starsThese pens are so unique - I have never seen anything like them. I plan on giving these to my children's teachers for Halloween - I know they will love them. Seller is very easy to deal with and quick on delivery.

2 out of 5 starsThe enamel fell off the mirror, just a few days after I received it, and the mirror itself seems cheap; Along the edges its bubbling and cracking.

This is my first negative review, and I am extremely embarrassed that this buyer had a bad experience. I made a new one for her. I think what happened is that I had emergency surgery in the spring. I had just reopened my store after that and my quality control was not where it should have been. I cure the design on the mirror so that the shape is perfect. I then pop it off and glue it in place, and I think I forgot the gluing step on this one. As far as the quality of the mirror, the rest of the ones that I have do not have any issues so I am confident that future items will not have that same problem. I have one that I have been carrying in my purse for a year and it is holding up perfectly.
About MarieYoungCreative

Sculpting over hollow egg shells is big passion of mine. When I look at an egg, I see a character waiting to emerge.
-
Stories exist in polymer and love to watch them unfold as I begin to sculpt.
-
My more complicated pieces can take months to create. Most everything is sculpted freehand. Patience is rewarded!
-
Our home is filled with cats. I make them model in exchange for food. This one is Henry.
-
I love using natural elements like spices. Cinnamon in my house is more likely to spice up polymer than pie!
Purveyor of Tales (and Tails)
The Marie Young Creative studio was born in 2009 out of a need to find an outlet for my creative urges.
My work is inspired by art history, vintage finds, nature, and occasionally the offbeat. I love to explore contrast: light and dark, good and evil, urban and rural, sweet and naughty. Like my art, I am filled with sugar and spice, blended with a little of the unexpected.
I inherited my love for creating from my mom. She encouraged my sister and me to play with everything. Her only rule was don't cut paper with the fabric scissors. I started to evolve that love of "technique-based" crafting through artistic discovery.
I loved studying art so much that I chose art history as my major in college. When I told my family about my choice of major, my father not-so-politely asked, "What in the Hell can you do with that?" Well, I found that I can channel inspiration from the past, adding my own funky twist, to create original projects.
