Announcement   Thank you for visiting Creations by Oma and shopping with me. God has blessed me with a talent to create beautiful things that may bring joy to other people. So Creations by Oma was started.
At Creations by Oma there are three divisions. In our Drapery and Upholstery Division we specialize in custom made draperies, valances, roman shades, pillows, seat cushions and table skirts. We recently also added upholstery, but this is more for our local clients. You can also visit our website http://www.creationsbyoma.net to view all of our items in this division, along with our policies for this shop.
In our Embroidery Division we specialize in embroidery and monogramming. From guest towels, kitchen towels, bath towels and handkerchiefs to burpies and onsies, or any special occasions items you may have. All my items can be customized by adding a monogram or a name and date to personalize that little burp cloth, guest towel or a bride’s handkerchief. If you have any ideas or something special in mind, just let me know. I can embroider just about anything I can get a needle in.
In our Children's Division we specialize in one of a kind children's clothes. We target primarily baby and toddler clothes. Take a look, I am sure you can find something that would be just adorable for your little one or grand child.

Thanks again for stopping by. I hope to talk to you soon!

We love our beautiful new window seat cushion! High quality, made to exact dimensions, using custom material. This gorgeous cushion completes this window for us. Thank you so much! Communication was great as well. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a high-end custom cushion.

About

How Creations of Oma came about

I was born and raised in Berlin - Germany and came to the United States in 1969. My husband and I did not have a lot of money, so running to the store and buying clothes was only a luxury. I took a sewing class in Germany during High School. That gave me an idea. So I went to a store and bought a cheap sewing machine. I had one favorite pair of pants, ripped those apart and used them as a pattern to make more.
We had a sofa that was loaned to us by an aunt. Our little dog proceeded to rip the cushions into threads. Oh, no! What to do? So I tackled my first upholstery job. It was not bad and the sofa went from an ugly, non-discript brown to a beautiful red (red was in back in 1970).
Then I got a “real” job and sewing took a back burner. I was now like everybody else, running in the corporate world. Then one day, about three years ago now, I was told that my company was downsizing. Well, I found myself out the door. What to do? I was now in my early 60s and faced with trying to find a new “job". One day my granddaughter asked –“what are you going to do now, Oma? Will you get a fun job, like working as at greeter, or at a clothing store?” Not quite what I was looking for. Suddenly my previous sewing skills came to mind and there was my answer – Creations by Oma! I started out small and soon found out that my specialty was upholstery and drapery.
So now that you know my story, I would love to hear from you. I am a very picky sewer. If I am not happy with the results, I know you too will not be happy. So expect good work from me. If you are not satisfied, I will make it right.
I hope I will hear from you soon!
