Marjorie Minnie....once upon a time

Some of my earliest memories are of watching my Nana, Marjorie Minnie, knit & sew. She worked as a seamstress, but loved anything craft, and I can barely picture her without a project in her hands. She had the patience to teach me to knit at an early age and this is where my love of Textiles began.

I am in no doubt that this early influence in my life inspired my passion for creating which led to my degree in Textile Design, specialising in machine knit, and later to my current role at Bath School of Art & Design as Constructed Textiles Technician.

When my children were born in 2012, I wanted to make them both a useful and unique keepsake, and so the idea of making them each a personalised blanket came about.

As a working Mum of twins the development of this idea has been slow progress and taken many twists and turns since then! I design and make all cushions and animals with my own two pair of hands. I have recently had the pleasure of working with a small manufacturer to produce my collection of knitted blankets. This range has been designed by me and made in Scotland, but are all still washed and hand finished by myself in my home studio in Bath.

My twins are now 7, and have both inspired and had input into these designs (and I am not prepared to argue with the opinions of two 7 year olds!).

We hope you love our products.

Additional policies and FAQs
My blankets are made from 100% lambswool which means that they are more delicate than normal wool products. For the best care these blankets should be hand washed or machine washed on a cold hand wash cycle (20 degrees or below). Dry flat and reshape whilst damp. Cold wash only. Steam iron.

*Please note: Do not use Woolmark or wool wash cycles as these are often too hot and have high spin speeds which may result in your blanket felting.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.

You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support; when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;

I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Mailchimp is Privacy Shield certified.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
