About

A Cutting Edge Combination of Color and Composition.

Mixing metal work with enamels is like being at summer camp. We get to play with fire and color and form all day. Enamel has a history of allowing metalsmiths to add color to their work without using gemstones. I use vitreous enamels, powdered glass, not resin or paint. This process fuses glass to metal for a durable piece that will last a lifetime.
In the workshop I start my process with drawings that are then painstakingly carved into wax shapes. These waxes are then cast into metal parts. Once we have these masters we make molds so we can cast multiples of the same shape. With these sterling silver castings we can then start the enameling process. Enamels need to be applied in thin layers and fired to 1400F. We repeat this three times. Each piece of jewelry then has to be cleaned up by sanding and polishing before it is gift boxed and sent to your door.
