Coastal Color, Vintage Style

Marsh & Light offers décor items inspired by the colors and textures of the island I call home. These pieces have a vintage sensibility, as a nod to my longtime love of antiques. The use of light and color, especially the cool greens and blues of the sea and marsh, is important in all of my creations, whether through the use of paint, paper, or fabric. My hope is that my customers will share in my love of the southern lowcountry through my art and my attention to personal service.

My name is Holly Pobis, the owner of Marsh & Light. Thank you for visiting my shop!

I was born on the South Carolina lowcountry coast and was finally able to move back here after my children went to college. I spent a couple of years on Hilton Head and now live on Daufuskie Island. Here, I have found my true artistic inspiration, and I incorporate coastal colors in all I do.

My educational background, both in my own degrees and teaching career, is in Classics -- I think that's where my love of antiques and vintage pieces began and when I began collecting antiques for my home. During my time as a marketing director at a small school, I became a self-taught graphic designer and web page manager. I put these skills to use as a photographer and scrapbooker.

Although I do not own my own art studio, I love working in my home. My shop name reflects my favorite part of the SC Lowcountry -- the salt marsh -- and my love of light. I always incorporate the colors of the coast with the vintage feel that inspires me. I hope you can find something special in my shop that brings "Coastal Color, Vintage Style" into your home.
