5 out of 5 starsThank you so much for the beautiful necklace! My husband loved it. The owner was so pleasant and when I didn't receive the order due to potential package stealing, he graciously redid the order free of charge and resent! I will definitely use MarshFineWoodworking again in the future.

An Artisan's Passion
I've been creating high quality hand crafted works of art for nearly 20 years. Some of the items I specialize in creating are unique and personalized memento boxes, personalized plaques, jewelry boxes, segmented bowls, custom jewelry and many other handcrafted hardwood items.
The items we offer are unique in that we blend together the art form and craftsmanship of old-school techniques with a modern twist and exotic hardwoods. You'll notice natural wood joints on our custom jewelry boxes; not staples, nails, and dowels. Our products are made out the highest quality hardwoods, from exotics like African Padauk, Wenge and Purple Heart, to American grown Curly Maple, Black Walnut and Cherry. You'll never see plywood in any of our designs! We want our customers to have the best of the best when it comes to materials, craftsmanship, and unique designs. The majority of our items can be personalized to make them your own.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take for items to ship?
Typically orders placed by 12PM CST Monday-Saturday ship the very same day, with a few exceptions. Please allow 1-2 extra business days for shipping if you choose to personalize an item.
How do I place an order for a personalized item?
1. On the product page, select "Yes" in the "Personalize Back" drop down menu.
2. Type what text you would like engraved on the back of the item. Maximum characters allowed varies depending on the product but it is listed below the lower-right hand corner of the text field.
3. Double check your spelling if personalizing :-)
4. Once you've added your personalization, simply click "Add To Cart" and proceed through checkout.
The item I'm interested in says "Inlaid", what does that mean?
Many of our items are inlaid with UV resistant epoxy resin. This is a process of engraving the artwork deep into the hardwood which creates a void. Then epoxy resin is mixed with mica powders to make the desired color and then it is poured into the engraving. It takes 24 hours for the resin to "set" (harden), and then the item is sanded flush with the wood. This removes the excess resin and reveals the beautifully detailed resin filled engraving.
The item I'm interested in is made out of "Curly Maple", what is this?
Curly Maple is one of our favorite hardwoods to use in our custom made items. It is a hard, dense wood that is perfect for engraving and inlaying.
It is one of the most popular woods that is used in high-end guitar making. Curly Maple is a rare wood; less than 2% of Maple trees are classified as "Curly Maple". This is due to it's most unique characteristic; the 'wavy' effect in the wood grain. As you hold a finished piece of Curly Maple in your hand and move it in the light, the wood grains appear to move, almost like waves on the water.
How are your items made?
We are a family run business, located in North-Eastern Alabama. We pay especially close attention to detail when selecting our exotic hardwoods to ensure we use only the highest quality wood available. 100% of the unique items we offer are handcrafted.
