Announcement   FREE STANDARD USPS SHIPPING ON ALL ORDERS. Insured Priority and Express delivery are available for additonal cost. Elegant jewelry gift bag with a ribbon included with all purchases :)

My hand crafted enamel jewelry is the perfect pop of color to accessorize your wardrobe. My designs are inspired by retro atomic geometry. Custom colors are available for most designs!

Use the Sections Menu to the left to navigate to view specific types of jewelry, collections and one of a kind pieces. I also make custom designed jewelry pieces. Contact me via conversations to discuss details.

I craft all the components of my designs by hand from copper and silver. I create my enamel designs by sifting multiple layers of pigmented vitreous glass powders over the copper or silver forms, then firing each piece individually in a kiln at 1500 degrees F (815 C). Each design typically involves 3 to 5 individual firings. More about the enamel process and my techniques is posted on my profile page.

About

Enamel My World

I started designing and making jewelry in 1990 shortly after I graduated from college. At first I just wore my pieces, but friends and co-workers encouraged me to sell my designs and before long I had a new career.

My passion for glass led me to the enameling process and soon I began to take metalsmithing classes as well. In 1998 I established my own metal jewelry and enameling studio in Chicago called Fabrications, which later became Mary Laskey Designs.

I've sold many pieces over the years at various art fairs and festivals, as well as on the web. Until recently, I've never had a bricks and mortar store of my own, but when I opened my Etsy shop in August 2006, it felt like my designs finally had a home.

2018 began a new chapter in my creative career. I am proud to be the owner and founder of SCHEME gallery in Chicago, a gallery space and shop featuring art exhibitions and artist made goods. Visit us in person at 3823 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Additional policies and FAQs
ENAMEL INFORMATION AND CARE: Enamel is a form of glass fused to metal and is safe to wear without irritating the skin. Because the base is metal (copper or silver) it is much more durable than glass on its own. However, chipping or cracking can occur if it is dropped, so it should be treated with care when handling it.

To clean enamel jewelry or dishes, use a soft cloth and wipe clean, use mild soap if needed. DO NOT use a dishwasher or anything abrasive to clean the enamel surface. Enamels should avoid contact with strong chemicals and certain acidic foods (such as citrus). Exposed copper on the back of enamel dishes can be cleaned with mild commercial metal polishes such as Brasso or Penny Brite.
