Martha Rotten is a bold & dark line of lead-free pewter jewelry and gifts created & designed by Francene Yorko since 2008. It is heavily influenced by science, nature, and the unavoidable cycle of life. The entire line is handcrafted in Parkton, MD by both Francene and Pete Yorko.

With 20+ years as a model maker, Francene sculpts the master models by hand using traditional pewter model making methods, which consist of sculpting directly into pewter stock. Each step of the finishing processes including centrifugal casting, antiquing, hand and vibe polishing, soldering, assembly of all pieces, and stone setting, are all done in studio. Not 3D printed.

Our home studio is located on 5+ acres that is kept mostly wild to promote wildlife habitat and provide inspiration. We purchase renewable energy and try to keep things efficient and reduce waste. We’ve recently switched to fully biodegradable, recyclable, and reusable packaging and shipping materials.

All pieces are made-to-order despite the "in stock" number in the listing. Time frame varies from piece to piece so please message us if you need something by a certain date and we will do our best.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
Exchanges only, no refunds. Damaged items will be fixed or replaced. Exchanges accepted within 30 days. Customer is responsible for all exchange shipping costs. Go to the Exchange/Repair section in our shop to set one up.
Shipping
Standard free US shipping is USPS First Class. Standard free shipping includes up to $100 insurance with an upgrade option for an additional $100 covering the actual cost of the items. For orders over $200, message us for additional insurance. Upgrade option for USPS Priority is available. We will refund any shipping overages. International shipping is set for USPS First Class International. International customers should contact us before placing larger orders to calculate shipping. Customer is responsible for all exchange shipping costs. We are not responsible for lost packages or packages stuck in customs. Understand that insurance does not always cover packages marked "Delivered". You must contact your local post office to follow their procedure for lost packages, which may include a police report.
