About

What's a Nice Girl Like Me Doing in A Place Like This?

As a full time Instructor of high school English and a full time state and federal categorical program director, I yearned to go back to my creative roots. Having already co owned the first women's theater on the Central Valley of California and done everything from costume design to makeup design to directing, I was needing a break from direct contact with dramatic types and so decided to take a break for awhile. I waited. And waited. My burnout was extensive and I had no desire to write (my first love) or draw.

Three years later, my first sketches started to roll out of my overly work induced fog. When I was growing up, I was raised by a mother who taught us to sew without patterns (we learned to make our own), embroider, hand and machine sew and crochet. I was self taught to macrame, bead work, paint, and draw. All of these skills have surprisingly and gratefully resurfaced.

What you will find in our store is handmade jewelry, destash from project and harvests of stashes I have purchased, books--both new and used--and patterns for projects of handmade goods, ephemera of both of both old items and new items that house older pictures which you can use as you want--vintage costume jewelry in lots that you can resell or restore or use as upcycle materials, and vintage beads and vintage bead lots rescued during harvests.

Collage and Assemblage is my medium. A mix of antique and vintage with newer components. My goal as the years continue is to work with lamp work and understand how to make silver jewelry. If you come back often, you may be able to see how I grow as an artist.

Please come in--stay as long as you want to. Know that all items come to you from a smoke-free home. We do have a cat, however, who thinks it all really belongs to her. I don't have the heart to tell her else-wise.She is a Siberian which makes her almost dander free but if you have an allergy to cats, you should know she is all over the house and often comes to snuggle when I am in my office/workshop. If you need items combined, let us know and we will do that for shipping purposes.

So glad you are here. We hope you become a regular visitor and that in time we may call you friend.

Shopping for what you want, when you want it is YOUR business. We welcome you to come on in, stay for an hour or two. . .read. . look. . .and always feel free to come back!

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payment
I only accept Paypal at this time. If payment is not received within three days of putting the item on hold, it will be placed back in stock. This also goes for stashes or bundles being held for people. I am big on communication, so talk to me if there is a need out there. . .okay? Californian's are charged an 8% fee for tax--sorry that's the Governator's rules, not mine!
Shipping
I ship Priority USPS for almost all of my items. If you want standard USPS, let me know and it will be determined at checkout. International buyers, I do not ship to Italy or China. Trust me, I have a real heart for these places, especially for Italy, but the mail system is not what it used to be and too many packages get lost and stolen.

I will be shipping the written word via email, so most orders can be filled in 24-48 hours. Please make sure that the email address you want it shipped to agrees with the Paypal account. YOU will deliver the writing on whatever medium you choose. That is not part of our services. You will see shipping on written word products as 0.00 as they are emailed.
Refunds and Exchanges
Refunds are accepted on most items. Grab bag lots of jewelry, listed as such are non returnable and non refundable. If you have a return or refund, please contact the store within three days of packages arrival and ask to return and an address will be provided for that return. Once the merchandise is returned to the seller, the money will be refunded through the Paypal account listed in full.

Since the written word portion of this site is creative and subjective, and since I only begin writing once I have received the information for the co-creation and the Paypal payment, I do ask that you respond to the writing so it can be amended and adjusted within 24 hours of receiving it. Once you have agreed to copy, no refund is offered. Je T'adore does not hold copyright nor assume any responsibility for anything written for clients on this site. Any actions taken as a result of any writing make the person paying for the propduct the accountible party. So, choose and use you words wisely. Words both create and destroy. Use your power for good and not for evil.
