Beautiful design made up to my specifications, dispatched swiftly and extra postage refunded promptly. All in all a really great experience, and the handkerchief is super-cute, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

About

Drawing a Line with Thread

I am foremost an artist. But I also use all the skills I’ve gleaned as an artist (printmaking, woodworking, graphic design, sewing, and color theory for instance) to design weddings and events. When I'm not making art or designing an event, I make items by hand embroidering. My mother taught me to sew, but I taught myself how to embroider while in college. I believe in making things by hand and celebrating a slow but intimate process such as embroidering. My process begins with an idea for a design. I then draw the design, sometimes several times until it is to my liking. Next I transfer the drawing to fabric by drawing it with pencil. I then lovely stitch each line including the tiniest of details. Depending on the size and amount of detail, my hand embroidered pieces can take between 2 hours to several weeks to create. I never use an embroidery machine. While a machine may speed up the process, I believe a hand embroidered piece displays a warmth and uniqueness.

I currently reside in upstate New York with my brilliant husband and thirteen year old hound dog. I am inspired by listening to warm toned records, vintage books and illustrations, old architecture, baking, and my Polish great grandmother.

Artistic talent runs in my genes with many talented family members. This supportive artistic upbringing pushed me to develop my artistic skill set, attend Pratt Institute, and continue to create my art work. Making is like breathing for me.

At thirteen years, I've lived a full life of hunting and sniffing stuff and now I've retired in my golden years to a life of leisure. I work part time as an assistant but mostly provide comic relief and inspiration.
