Announcement   Welcome to Maryke Dolls.
Imagining new doll characters and stories and sending them out into the world is my favourite thing.
My dolls are heirloom quality, and perhaps a little more "artsy" than the average rag dolls created for children. I prefer natural eco-friendly materials and giving new life to vintage fabric and trims. I try to set my dolls apart from the crowd by employing a "mash up" of different craft techniques such as needle felting and needlepoint embroidery.
I've named this venture "Maryke," after my grandmother, and Maryke also happens to be my middle name and the middle name of my oldest daughter. It's a reminder to me of the timelessness that heirloom dolls possess, as well as the stories we all hold inside us. The things we pass from one generation to the next tell us who we are and what we value. I have always treasured childlike wonder, and the notion that even as we grow up, the world still holds a bit of magic.

I love this little hippie doll! Her hair has beautiful mohair curls and I really like the way Robyn makes their bodies. They are made to set on their own. The wool products that’s Robyn uses on her dolls makes them really have a very special look from other handmade dolls.
