I began dabbling with crochet back when I was in high school when a cherished friend showed me how to make basic stitches. I enjoyed it but when I went to school for art I put the hooks and yarn down and replaced them with charcoal and paint.

In 2004 I had my first child. I again picked up yarn and hook and began filling her wardrobe and my home with all things crochet. As my family grew, so did my obsession with crocheting more unique and fun things for my children. The things that they loved always seemed to make their way into my work.

In my early days of crochet I found that many patterns I would try would not work up correctly or would have slight errors in them. I found myself frustrated by this and quickly stopped using patterns completely and began writing my own. This freed my work in a wonderful way and allowed me to learn and grow in my craft. It also allowed my work to become truly my own, my designs and patterns all completely original.

I love sketching up a new idea and seeing it come to life in my hands with such simple things as beautiful yarn and well worn hooks. I work new ideas into finished patterns in my many sketch books, working them to perfection before adding them to my shop. I will sometimes rework older patterns of mine as I continue to grow in my skill. This keeps my shop and my work ever evolving and fun!

I absolutely love what I do. I take such pride in knowing that what I had once picked up as a hobby has become so much more to my life. I love that the things that I have created with love have gone all over the globe! I am excited to continue to create and grow in my work.
