About

Romantic Industrial Metalwork

I've always liked to make things or "save" things...furniture from the trash, refinish...resell. Grapevine from the woods woven into a basket. Broken glass turned into a mosaic or leaded glass window. But when I started making jewelry, it felt natural to just keep going. It has never become boring. In fact I feel like a beginner, and I have been making metal objects for 25 years!
Time soars when you are following your dream.
I generally sell my work at Art Festivals around the state of Florida.
I mix metals using sterling, gold, upcycled steel, and copper, and adding color with enamels. I am having a blast. I'm so surprised and grateful to call my self a "jeweler"! I'm actually more of a Tinker-bell.
I was not an art major. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of South Florida. I worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor until I had my adorable daughter and decided to stay home with her. I wish everyone could experience the elation of self employment and reliance! Creativity is freedom.
My husband is my tent monkey...traveling with me to art festivals around the state to set up the booth/ store. He mentally ping pongs my business strategies and encourages me to branch out. My daughter is now a 10 year old tumbler and movie producer.

I live in the Tampa Bay Area. The jewelry is hand fabricated and incorporates techniques of Stone setting, Form Folding, Reticulation, Granulation, Hollow Form construction, and cold connections- riveting. Most of the jewelry is oxidized to colorfully accent the details. I use reclaimed steel and recyle all sterling scrap.
I believe my work is from something outside myself, I try to be a channel for combinations that are beautiful and interesting. I like mechanical moving parts and lots of texture!
