Love everything about the entire process! Worked with me to design/modify an existing ring. Rushed my order to accommodate proposal plans. Was pleasant, understanding, and knowledgeable the entire way, even as time became short. Definitely coming back for wedding bands and more!

About

Small family business based in San Diego, CA. Our focus is to produce one of a kind handmade jewelry set with conflict free natural colored gemstones.

It all started on the Island of Malta, in the Mediterranean Sea. In the summer of 1966, when I was nine years old. I remember needing to make some money and after watching my older brother successfully selling his hand carved wooden sculptures I thought that if he could do it, so could I. The first pieces I made were wooden carvings of fish that I made into key chains followed with iron rings and peace signs made using old horse shoe nails. The natural beginning to living life as green as possible.

Living on a small island you quickly learn to be resourceful. Nothing is ever thrown away and I was fortunate in having access to my father's and his father's work shop that was packed with over 50 years of great junk and more importantly 50 years of just about every tool imaginable. We never had a lot of money, but what we did have was a wealth of imagination and ingenuity, and most importantly, a natural artistic ability to work with our hands.

I grew up watching both my amazing parents create wonderful things with their hands. There was nothing that they could not do. Everything they tried, they did well. As a result I just assumed that this was normal. My father would say "...if you really want it, then make it..." He always backed it up with plans and materials. By 15, I had built all sorts of things from long range sling shots, spear guns, skate boards and even a 12' racing sailboat, I had not realized that over the course of my short life I had observed and participated in the creation of many types of crafts. Starting with drawing to painting, woodworking to wood carving, tin making to wrought iron lamps and gates, copper soldering to welding, etching to repousse and chasing in copper, melting lead to make fishing weights to sand castings, cutting glass to glass sculptures, carving wood and limestone, to carving marble and even sewing. Yes, even ironing and darning my own socks. My mother always said that there was no shame in knowing how to take care of your clothes and to respect the skills of others.

I had not mastered many of the skills, but I had had enough hands on experience that the idea of making anything was never hampered with the idea that I would fail. This attitude is the only reason, I am were I am, today. I made my first piece of jewelry when I was 9, almost 50 years ago. As I grew up I experimented with making jewelry used many mediums. It was only after I emigrated to America at the age of 17, that my journey with precious metals and gemstones began.

Of all the places to settle, my parents chose Tucson, Arizona. The home to the largest gem show in the world. My fascination with natural colored gemstones started in Tucson. Once I was hooked I was never able to quench my thirst for knowledge. I can honestly say that I am a self taught jeweler, with the exception of a 8 hour casting class.

I never started out to be a Goldsmith. At 17 I worked with my father doing Wrought Iron work, then went to college to study to be an Architect. Put my self through college working in restaurants where I took a career turn into restaurant management. 12 years later I quit to go back to college where I earned my a B.S. in business.

I eventually settled in San Diego, CA. where I met and married my wife, Elizabeth. After many different jobs I went back to school for an accounting degree which led me back to the Jewelry industry as a financial auditor. After observing the retail operations and most importantly the bench jewelers, I recognized my love and passion for working with my hands and gemstones. Luck was in my favor, I was laid off with 6 month's severance pay, with full benefits! Time to start my own business. That was over 25 years ago. I have since been a self-employed jeweler. During that time I have honed my skills teaching myself everything that I know, there is nothing that we cannot do.

Fast forward 26 years later and now we have two grown sons, Alex and Will. We all work in the business, working out of a small Studio in our backyard. I have worked swap meets to art shows, retail to ebay. Eventually I fell in love with the idea of ETSY; A quaint marketplace where only handmade goods were sold, by the artists who made them. It was on line so I could operate out of my house.

A great part of my passion for making jewelry is in the materials. All of the diamonds used in my jewelry are conflict free, the gemstones Fair Trade, and 90% of all the metals that I use are refined by myself in an environmentally safe way. Nothing has been discarded in the past 25 years.

We also produce everything in house so nothing ever needs to be sent out. We start off by recycling all our own gold, silver and platinum so we always know what is inside everything we produce. We buy and trade old jewelry and scrap gold which we then refine and cast, or fabricate into something new.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our store and for reading our story.

Refunds and Exchanges
Everything offered for sale comes with a money back guarantee. If for any reason you do not like what you have purchased please return it promptly within 14 days of receipt for a full refund. During the month of December I will allow the 14 days to start after the 25th. Everything must be returned in the same condition it was received. That means it cannot be worn. Custom orders are not returnable.

If you are not sure about the item you have received and are debating whether or not to keep it, please do not wear it, especially if it is a ring. If a ring has obvious signs of being worn it WILL be returned to you. If you wear it, it cannot be returned.

Everything we sell is new and has never been worn. We photograph and document in detail everything that we send out to maintain a record of its condition. Emphasis is placed on close up photographs of the colored gemstones. No matter how careful you are all gemstones, including diamonds will incur very minor hard to see abrasions on the facet junctions when worn for even a few hours. Please do not worry about the durability of your gemstone, all gemstones have these microscopic abrasions and even after many many years of being worn they will not be visible to the naked eye and they will never detract from the pure beauty of the gem.

These microscopic abrasions are not visible to the naked eye, but can be clearly seen with the use of a 10X jewellers loupe. To a connoisseur, or an avid gem collector the abrasions are indicative of a worn and damaged gemstone. I cannot take them back and try to pass them on to the next unsuspecting customer. That would be dishonest, and that is not how I conduct my business. Every damaged gemstone has to be recut which results in a reduction in the size and weight of the gemstone and most importantly can only be done by expert gem cutters, a process that is both time consuming, and very expensive.

Please contact us before returning the item so that we can send you instructions on how to return it and more importantly to make sure that it qualifies for a refund. Custom orders are not refundable, nor are they returnable. All rings cast in a different color gold are RETURNABLE and are not considered custom orders so you can return them. The only exception is green gold which is considered a custom order. All packages received without prior arrangements WILL be refused and returned to sender.

We employ a third party to process all returned packages and if they are not notified in advance they will refuse delivery. This third party is also employed, along with us, to review and confirm the condition of all returned packages. By employing a third party there can never be any doubt as to what was returned and the condition of the item when returned. Once the confirmation has been made, the refund will be processed within three business days.

The 14 day money-back guarantee on all purchases, excludes custom-made items and items on payment/financing plans. You will have 14 business days from the time you sign for your package to mail the package back to me. You must return the item in its original condition, with it's original box, and any other item shipped with your purchase.

We reserve the right to deduct a small fee of $20, for any ring that has been sized and will depend on the type of ring and how extreme a sizing it was. If the ring is made to order there will be no charge. In the event that you decide to make a purchase, but request that we recast the item in a different colored gold (except green gold) the full money back guarantee still applies. If you request that we make modifications to the item purchased it will be considered a custom order and all sales are final and not returnable. This also applies to all and any custom work, unless specified at the time of purchase. Thank you for your understanding.

You will be responsible for the cost of shipping the item back. I cannot assume any responsibility for any item not returned to me in this manner.

A full refund will be given so long as everything is returned in the condition it was received. If the item purchased is damaged in any way it will not be accept, nor will any refund be given. Accompanying, paperwork and jewelry boxes must be returned. If the jewelry box is missing a $5 fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

We do not charge for shipping to anywhere in the United States of America and charge a small nominal charge for shipping to anywhere outside of the United States. All nominal shipping costs will be refunded except where you have requested expedited shipping. Expedited shipping will not be refunded.

If the ring was engraved it cannot be returned unless prior arrangements were made. Engraving permanently marks the jewelry leaving it unsaleable. It is recommended that you do not request engraving until you approve the ring. My fee for engraving is $45 due to the fact that I have to send it out. It is a lot cheaper to have it done locally.

All refunds will be process within 3 business days.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
