About

Diagram Poems

These poetic piecharts and other non-mathematical, unscientific, allusive and ambiguous diagrams are composed of words and phrases cut from books that I've rescued from gutters and pavements or bought from flea markets and charity shops. Often these are also collaged on paper from old books, end pages, blank pages between chapters and the faded-coloured covers of hardback books.

It can take as long as a couple of days to complete one of these original collages, or as short as an hour. In general, the most laboured pieces are kept to one side for gallery shows and the quicker ones are put for sale on etsy.com at affordable prices.

I make assemblage sculptures too, also from an array of found, discarded materials and everyday imagery. I'm interested in exploring the new thoughts the appear in the unfamiliar connections formed between otherwise familiar objects, words and images.

I hope that you enjoy looking at the work in my shop, reading the diagram poems - and that you find something that you like.
