Why Abstract Art?

I wish I could tell you that I went to {insert art school here} to hone my skill. I wish I could say that I have some deep inspiration leading each and every one of my paintings. You know—the kind of inspiration that stems from world hunger, nature, or the soul of life. I regret to inform you, potential art buyer, I did not go to art school. My paintings range in levels of inspiration. Sometimes they are just a product of the process and I simply am the conductor.

I stumbled onto a paintbrush and some acrylic paint in 2011. I had a vision for my paintings that barely made it past my kitchen. There was only one thing I was sure of. I needed to do abstracts. Over the course of my life, I never strayed from the norm. I did everything you would “expect” the average person to do. I followed the prototypical plan. So to put it bluntly, I picked up a dollar store paintbrush to escape my mundane life. I painted my first abstract stroke to feel something different than my predictable life. Painting in the abstract (un)grounds me. Abstract art reminds me that you do not always need a plan.

Fast forward to the present day. I love art as much as I have loved anything. I would even go so far as to call it a career. I am still an average person—an average artist at best. I can promise you maximum effort. You will not find a more flexible and dedicated artist. I pride myself on creating original art that brings life and character to your space. So if you need an escape from the mundane, you have found the right artist.
