I suspect that a perfect gift, for another or for oneself, is something to be used every day and not on rare occasions. These pepper mills have NOTHING to do with the weightless pepper mills I used to have, or the ones that waiters named Todd or Scott use to offer fresh pepper with my meal. Smooth, heavy, solid, beautifully finished, and with wood of deep grain and not just some superficial stain. Objects made with love and a terrific sense of what wood is all about. These may be the finest looking and finest pepper mills in the world. I bought a 6" one and am very happy with that. Maybe not as dramatic on a big table, but its thicker-set outline (thick!) than the taller ones pleases me. Beautiful piece admired by my guests. I will buy more. Thanks thanks Mr. Jones, from John

Absolutely stunning peppermill made by a true artisan. Really love the spalted beech. Also the grinding mechanism is incredibly smooth and nice to use. I am a very happy customer, thank you Matt!

About

I make beautiful and functional objects using native Irish wood.

I believe strongly that a maker should express in his work how he thinks and feels about the world and society. The object isn’t just an object but an embodiment of a series of values and beliefs. I care about the environment. I respect and appreciate quality. As a consumer I try and avoid mass produced clothing, food and products. I make choices that benefit the environment and society. Fair trade, organic and ethically produced . I hope my work exists in this space and that my customers share these values. I hope to make objects that I would like to buy.
