5 out of 5 starsSometimes it is simply an idea that changes everything...I am grateful I asked Marjorie about the contents of this collection. She went above and beyond to show me a little video of her paging through the booklet. One page jumped out at me helped me decide. Sure enough I soon had this copy in my hands more quickly than I dared believe, thanks to her expedient service. The idea that changes everything? an overshot pattern that employs cotton warp but the same wool yarn for tabby weft that is used for pattern weft to yield a soft and cuddly blanket. I never would have thought that possible. Marjorie understands how weavers think and that's why I come back again and again to buy from her. Thanks!

5 out of 5 starsOld Shuttle Craft Guild Monographs are useful references to have in one's textile library. I'm very thankful to be able to purchase this one (and others) at a reasonable price. The seller mails all items out very quickly, responds to messages quickly and courteously, and all items have arrived in good condition. Thank you!

Preparing the loom using a ball of hand dyed rainbow gradient yarn.
Balancing the left and right brain
In 7th grade, our sewing teacher uncovered my talent for sewing a straight line. Eventually this line of thread wound itself around most of the clothing I made and wore. In my thirties I discovered weaving provided a new twist. I could actually make the fabric. Over twenty years later I continue to create fabric by dying the yarns and weaving these yarns into shawls, scarves, jackets and accessories.
Part of my brain enjoys calculating the yardage and warping the loom. The other part enjoys the freedom of blending new colors and creating wearable art.
I hope others find weaving and related fiber arts rewarding. To help introduce this craft to new artists I look for used fiber equipment, recondition it and then offer it at affordable prices.
