As a little girl, I remember digging through my grandmothers' jewelry boxes and playing dress-up with all of their beautiful jewels. My maternal grandmother had an eclectic jewelry collection, mixing some very simple pieces with those with sparkling gemstones (some real, some not), while my paternal grandmother tended to focus on much more simple, Scandinavian pieces (she's Norwegian). As a result, I grew to love and appreciate a wide range of jewelry styles, and the jewelry I make reflects that. Because my grandmothers inspired my love for jewelry, my shop is named for them--"May" for my paternal grandmother and "Evodia" for my maternal grandmother.

My jewelry making process is relatively organic. I tend to buy beads that I like and let the beads inspire the design, rather than ordering beads because I have a specific design in mind. Sometimes I sit and sketch for hours to get inspired , and other times I just sit down and "play" with the beads or wire until I stumble upon something that I like. I work with a wide variety of materials, including gemstones, glass, wood, leather, silver, gold, brass, and copper.

In the future, I plan to expand my shop offerings to include more home items. My maternal grandmother in particular, also inspired my love of interior design. And while I have a few pieces in the shop that are home decor related, I hope to expand my home item offerings in the future.

I am so glad to have a way to get my creative energy out , while hopefully bringing a smile to others' faces.
