About

The brilliance of silver, the natural beauty of wood.

Beautiful. Unique. An heirloom. And definitely something different.

These are the thoughts that Matthew Davis hopes his handmade pens will inspire.

Engaged in artistic pursuits all his life, Matthew came to especially enjoy woodworking. He started to make pens as small projects to do during waiting times of larger projects, but quickly discovered that he loved the combination of technical and artistic skills needed for penmaking.

Dissatisfied with the limitations of commercially available pen components, he turned to his silversmith father to learn that craft and set up his own silver studio. The ability to design and make his own sterling clips, center bands, and other components expands the creative possibilities in his pens. Of course, not every design idea can work as a pen, so he also produces some jewelry pieces from his studio.

Every product in the store is handmade by Matthew Davis and unique; the photos you see are of the actual item for sale, not a prototype or part of a "production run". Solid sterling silver pen components are designed and handcrafted by Matthew; other pens feature his hand-turned barrels fitted to commercially made pen components of either solid stainless steel or plated metals.
