Hi. My name is Chantal and I live in beautiful Dorset. I never thought of myself as creative, in fact, I would have said the opposite! I started knitting then crocheting and eventually discovered patchwork. My love for patchwork stems from my love of pretty fabrics. The best part of patchwork is the creative process. I love beginning with an "inspiration" fabric that combines multiple colours. From there I love pulling complimentary hues and patterns together to create a truly beautiful quilt.

Patchwork had also been a therapeutic pathway for me. When we found out in our pregnancy that our daughter had a fatal condition we were left devastated and heart broken. There wasn't much I felt like doing besides spending as much quality time with her while she was in my belly as possible. One way I did this was by quilting. I felt a sense of calm while being creative, something I wanted my daughter Meadow to feel. Her precious little life was already determined to be short and I didn't want her to only experience my sadness. Quilting helped me share so many other emotions with her as it allowed me to focus on the fact that we were sharing the process together. Patchwork quilts not only combine fabrics but also create memories that last forever. And so with that in mind, in Meadow's honour, I've started this business: Meadow Patch Quilts. In hope that her memory not only lasts in my mind, but also in the minds of each lovely Etsy viewer, purchaser and member.
