Reducing and Re-using, One Item at a Time

Who needs fast and cheap when you can have one of a kind heirlooms?
More than *15 million tons* of textile waste are generated in the United States alone each year, an amount that’s doubled over the past 20 years, according to the finance website The Balance. Fast fashion also has a harmful effect on human lives due to the poor working conditions in garment factories in Bangladesh and elsewhere.
My goal is to take unwanted things out of the waste cycle and give them new life. To preserve what already exists by making it more beautiful. With the help of all natural dyes, and centuries-old techniques I create new heirlooms out of unwanted textiles. Each piece I create is a journey of intuition and experimentation. I scavenge and hunt through yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores to find forgotten little gems that just need a little re-imagining and a lot of love. I always use ALL NATURAL fibers and dyes for my products, so you can be sure that they are safe for your family.
The majority of my products are also vegan because they are made from plant fibers (cotton, linen, rayon, hemp...), and plant dyes (Indigo, Turmeric, Iron Oxide, Madder Root, and more) - yay! Occasionally I will up-cycle a vintage piece that is wool or silk, and those are always clearly marked as such.

I am an avid lover of coffee, teas, travel, forests, beaches, single malt whisky, and animals or every kind. Road trips are my favorite way to travel, mostly so I can snap photos from the window. I would take my dogs with me everywhere if I could.
