Meditations Jewelry has been featured on the cover of ROCK AND GEM and has been described by the Jackson CLARION-LEDGER as a "nature inspired trendsetter."

It's also been featured in Gift Shop Magazine, Beach Blvd, Mississippi Weddings, VIVMag, Try Handmade, and other publications.

Techniques include everything from wire crochet, Viking weave and wire wrap to knotted pearls. I often work with affordable, "raw" or rustic versions of rare stones such as Opals, Rubies or Sapphires. "Rustic Glam" is my THING :)

Making jewelry is calming. There is something zen or meditative about it, which is why this shop is named Meditations.

Meditations welcomes special requests for custom work, as well as inquiries from gift shops, boutiques, galleries, and media/publications. Email to: MeditationsJewelry @ gmail.com.

About Meditations

Sales 1,126
On Etsy since 2007

I was hooked by an island in Italy, a factory in the Alps, and the old bronze stuff of plebians.

The origins of this shop began with my travels, back in the '90s. The glassmakers of Murano taught me jewelry could be about expression. They went about their work as if it mattered, and as if they were leaving slivers of themselves behind in the blown objects, lampworked Venetian glass and gorgeous millefiori.

Then there was the crystal. I'd never been a "girly girl." Heck, I barely wore any jewelry at all aside from an occasional casual necklace on leather cord. But the shimmer of Swarovski--born in the Austrian Tyrol, where I spent summers while in college--whet an appetite for gleam. Now, my favorite look is the contrast of "rustic glam" -- rustic things from nature highlighted by a wee bit of shimmer. This style reminds me of my visits to Swarovski, where a creative glint rose out of the rugged cliffs and peaks.

I'm also interested in the jewelry of the past. I have a little collection of affordable ancient Roman pieces--things like bronze signet rings and fascinating old toga pins. I love to imagine the people who wore them, long before the days of smart phones and YouTube. Maybe those people were not so different from us, and the person who made the ring or the pin was doing exactly what I do today. I speculate that he felt much the same.

When I make jewelry, it is calming. My primary work is as a freelance journalist, and sometimes meeting deadlines and chasing sources can be stressful. Designing jewelry is a type of zen escape, which is why I named this shop Meditations.

Returns and exchange details
I will issue a shop credit or refund on any item returned in perfect condition within 14 days of the item's receipt. Credit will be issued once the item has been received and is deemed in re-sellable condition. A refund or credit will be issued in full for the item's original sale price, but additional mailing fees to send the item back are responsibility of the purchaser.

I will also replace any item that is shown to have a defect or suffers breakage due to workmanship or materials within 30 days of the item's ship date. Please note that the item will usually be replaced with a duplicate of the same. No refunds will be issued on breakage, but I will "make it right" by sending a new one once we receive the broken item mailed back. In this case, the purchaser is of course not expected to pay extra shipping costs for the return nor replacement.

I want all of my customers to be happy, but please remember: I write sometimes annoyingly long-winded descriptions of these items so you know exactly what you are getting! If you are unsure, measure your wrist, your ring size, neck size, etc. The descriptions will always be as accurate as is humanly possible.

If you need more information, please ask BEFORE purchase.
Payment
Make payment with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express Paypal or Etsy Gift Card.

I no longer accept checks or money orders for small purchases. For orders of $250 or more, or for wholesale, contact me about paying via check or money order if it is your only option.
Shipping
There are two shipping options: USPS regular or the upgrade to USPS Priority. U.S. addresses only. Please note that I no longer ship to international addresses.

If you select shipping via regular USPS first class mail or parcel post, you are accepting that in exchange for lower shipping, you assume the risk; there's no insurance with this option. I do not provide refunds on lost or damaged items when the Priority upgrade wasn't selected.

I have sent over a thousand packages over the years, and only on a very few occasions have packages ever been truly "lost." So ... unless your item is very valuable, there is probably very little risk for you to select this shipping option.

Please note, however, that in my recent experience, shipping times are tending to get a day or two longer than they used to be, so if you need the item soon, select the Priority upgrade at checkout.

Meditations strives to ship every item in well-packaged, padded envelopes or boxes within three business days of purchase. Please note that made-to-order items may take a day or two longer.

Please note I am proud to do my part in helping eliminate waste and keeping costs down by sometime re-using packaging materials when possible.
