Arts, Crafts, and Designs

I grew up with the arts all around me. My mom crafted with us - I have an older sister - as kids and my dad was a photographer and painter and loved animation and puppetry. While my sister chose the path of the lawyer, I definitely was on an artistic track from the start.

I learned to paint with my dad and grandmother from the time I could hold a brush and pencil, I made all kinds of things with my mom, and when I was around 8 years old I started teaching myself to crochet! Of all the things I could have taught myself to make, I made DOILIES. You know, those lacy table-and-couch decor things? So, I like a little creative challenge. As an adult, I taught myself to knit as well. I thought I would sell knit and crochet items for a while, but that didn’t turn out to be what sold the best for me.

I learned all kinds of art techniques in college. One of the most valuable was Adobe Illustrator and drawing with vectors. This took me into the land of custom Cricut SVG files when the Explore Air 2 family of machines was introduced to me. I bought one a year ago and have been in love with the system ever since.

This brings my story to what I do today. I still love to knit and crochet, but what I’ve turned to is my talent designing with vectors. I love making my own die-cut files! I offer commercially printed options, personalized for free upon request, and if my customers would rather make a shirt for themselves, those lovely die-cut SVG files I design.
