About

The Crazy, Crafty Mama Behind Meet Mehaff Way

I sewed my first pair of pants when I was about 9 or 10. They were sea foam green and hand sewn. One leg was about twice the size of the other, but I was so proud that I was able to make an 'actual', semi-wearable piece of clothing that I didn't really care when they looked like. As I got older, my interest in sewing rollar coastered--I'd be reminded every few years how much I loved it, but it never quite captivated my full attention for long. In high school, I excelled in art, which quickly filled my intense and ever growing need for creativity. I experimented with many crafty mediums: painting, drawing, sculpture, glass art, knitting, etc and eventually found my way back to my sewing machine. I began making dresses, aprons, quilts…until, once again, my time was quickly over run; this time with friends, work, school, and college applications.
I attended college at Virginia Tech in 2008 with the intention of becoming an interior designer…until I realized that it wasn't really my forte. So, there I was in college, lost and taking classes with no idea on what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I thought about majoring in Art, but the classes and professors diminished my love of the subject, so I changed directions once again. Then I found it. Apparel, Housing, and Resources Management. Mouth full, right? I began classes concentrating in the Apparel Product Development and Merchandising Management program and I was in LOVE. The classes, the professors…fabulous! I knew I was in the right place. My fire in my sewing soul was reignited and I couldn't stop.
After graduating in 2012, I moved to Arizona with my husband and our daughter. I continued sewing and eventually taught myself to crochet. A photographer friend of mine told me about the world of photography props, which jump started my little business venture. Since then, it has been a constant creative outlet. I'm always sewing, crocheting, spinning yarn, making SOMETHING. There are so many crafts I adore and sometimes have trouble deciding where I should start my day, but I absolutely love it! My daughter is my inspiration for mostly everything I do-- she is also quite the helper. In fact, I'm positive she'll be whipping out her own fashions...as soon as she can reach the pedal.

ALL items in my shop (sewn AND crocheted) are 100% handmade by me! That means I am the one that crochets, cuts, measures, and sews each and every romper, dress, bowtie, bonnet, etc. --they are NOT mass-produced, but made right here in my clean, smoke-free home in the good 'ole U.S.A...especially for YOU!
All fabrics are pre-washed in a dye-free, fragrance-free detergent when possible.
