Item was as pictured and feels very sturdy. I measured the widest part of my hand as instructed, but it was still a little big. Other than I that, I really like the product!

I never intended to have my own line, but this is what happens when you are stubborn and can’t work for anyone. It is for someone like me: poor & cheap but extremely picky.

Until early 2010 every piece was made by my own hands on a Pfaff serger and Juki single needle. In June 2010 I opened a little shop in Vancouver, BC called the Hach. During this time Meinrad Young started to be manufactured in small factories in Vancouver, and continues to this day.

Recently I have relocated to San Francisco, where I am currently researching local manufacturers (everything is still produced in Vancouver at the moment). I don’t believe in manufacturing clothing in a different country. As a designer, I worked for a number of companies that manufactured overseas and witnessed firsthand how foolish and dangerous it was to let our own manufacturers languish.

Fabrics is a tough one - there are very few fabric mills that exist in North America and fabric has a huge environmental footprint (even so-called sustainable or environmentally-friendly). That said, Meinrad Young is made with fabrics from small mills in Europe, Korea, and our jerseys are sourced from Canadian suppliers.

I purposely keep my prices as low as possible to direct as many people as I can towards purchasing mindfully. It’s too easy to avoid buying locally-made items if they aren’t affordable.

Occasionally I make multiples of a style I think will do well, and those are shipped immediately. For all other orders, I do my best to have it made and sent to you within two weeks' time.

Orders placed within Canada are shipped via Canada Post with tracking. Orders within the USA are shipped via USPS, which comes with tracking and $50 of insurance. If you need insurance above that amount, please contact me before placing your order.

International orders are shipped via USPS First Class Mail, which tracks the package until it departs the USA and is the most cost effective shipping possible. If you would like delivery confirmation to your country, please contact me before placing your order, as the shipping fees for this option vary by country and can be quite costly.

Once your order has been shipped, I cannot be responsible for lost or damaged packages.
