Artists are people that do things with their hands and their minds and their hearts.

Glass Bubbles! I make them all out of strong and durable glass. Some are empty and some contain dreamy imagery. I can also make them with a certain someone's picture inside. Please feel free to ask about any color combination or idea you may want that you don't see. I'm always up for a custom item.

Art Career Found in an Antique Shop
This is not the real beginning, but it is the beginning of this current body of work.
While visiting Ithaca New York for a ex-boyfriend's family Thanksgiving, I wandered into an antique store. I happened upon some blown glass buttons. They were pearl colored and looked extremely delicate. About the size of a pea.
As I purchased about 7 of them, I asked where they came from. She offered that they were about 100 years old and they had been on a dress, which was no longer existing.
That filled me with ideas right away. "I'm going to make these someday." I said to myself with 100% certainty.
I held onto them for about 13 years. Once I was no longer desiring to make the type of glass jewelry I had been so exited by, I set out to make the bubbles like the buttons I had found.
I took them to a glass teacher and asked her how would make them. She made a few. They were not perfect but it was all I needed to see. Then I went home and the rest is history.
I have since added film, and other materials to the insides as well as adornments of gold and silver foil to the outsides. Cold working techniques and silver nitrate are a couple other signature ways I have manipulated the simple shape into a joyful glass on going adventure.
