About

Junking: The Ultimate Cheap Thrill

I can't think of anything more fun than rummaging through garage sales, thrift shops, and estate sales, and finding that ONE special item that everyone else has overlooked.

Of course, in my case, it's usually been overlooked for a reason--no one else can stand it! But I love things that make me laugh.

My husband and I go to garage sales almost weekly during the summer months. (I told him I was a cheap date!) My sister-in-law, though, is my REAL junking partner and I wouldn't trade the fun we have on one of our outings for anything, even though we occasionally engage in a polite bout of fisticuffs over a particularly alluring piece of vintage "junque" we both want.

On a personal note, my faith in Jesus Christ is at the core of all I am and do. I strive to honor Him with integrity in every endeavor, and that includes the service I give to everyone who so kindly patronizes this little Etsy shop. "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men," Colossians 3:23.

I've been involved in a torrid love affair with vintage junk since my teen years, so Etsy is really right down my alley. I love to shop here, and I love to sell here. I've a special penchant for the kitschy and the absurd.

I'm so pleased you've clicked on my site! Thank you. Vintage collecting is such a blast. I love the absurdity and offbeat nature of kitschy, retro stuff, and what you see here is my overflow. I hope you'll have fun checking out my listings. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

I do combine shipping to save you money whenever possible. I'm flexible about shipping methods if you have a preference, and I take returns. (See below.)

I'm located in the U.S.A. If you live elsewhere, and I haven't listed shipping for that location, convo me and I'll see what I can do. Please keep in mind that I may not be able to track or insure a package traveling out of the country, so there are risks involved.

I really do want you to be happy with your purchase, so please feel free to ask as many questions as needed to clarify details before ordering. I can send extra photos, too.

I value your good feedback and nothing is nicer than a return customer, so I aim to please!

One final note: Mine is not a pet-free home. If allergies are a problem, you may want to consider this before ordering. I do my best to make sure things are clean and carefully packaged, but once in a while, you may find a long, fluffy Pomeranian hair in your shipment! Consider it a bonus, eh?!

Shipping
About shipping: Let's face it, paying for shipping is a bummer. While I can't do anything to change postal rates, let me assure you I make every effort to keep my shipping prices as low as possible. Unless you ask for a specific shipping method, I will choose the least expensive option for your address. And if I've made a significant error in my estimation, I will refund you the excess amount.

ON THAT NOTE: While Etsy's shipping calculator system works great for shops whose wares are all of a similar size and weight (shops that specialize in jewelry, for example) it's a little clunky for eclectic shops like mine. I strongly urge you, if you plan to order more than one item, to contact me with your address so I can figure out your postage cost precisely

And yes, I DO combine shipping whenever possible. You don't even have to ask!
Refunds and Exchanges
If you receive your item and decide it's not for you, you have the option to return it. Message me to let me know the problem (maybe we can work things out) and/or to let me know it's on its way back. You have seven days to send it off and you must pay return shipping. I'll refund the price paid for the item, less shipping. I'm sorry, but shipping is not refundable, UNLESS I've made a major goof-up in describing or packaging the item. (Hey, it can happen!) In that case, you'll get every cent back.
Additional policies and FAQs
DAMAGED SHIPMENT POLICY: I pack all shipments with great care, but on rare occasions an item may incur damage. Please let me know if this happens, and INCLUDE PHOTOS OF THE DAMAGED ITEM (S), THE PACKAGING, AND ANY BROKEN PIECES.

If the package is insured, as the package recipient, it is your responsibility to initiate the refund process with the post office by contacting the post office with proof of damage. (That is their requirement, not mine!) You can take the broken item and packaging directly to your post office, or download a form plus instructions online.

For uninsured packages, proof of damage is required by me and I will not refund without it. Sorry, but not everyone is honest, and so I must insist!

In purchasing from this shop, you are agreeing to these policies.
