melsbellsjewelry's Shop Announcement

Welcome to Mel's Bells. I like to use my creative superpowers to bring you joy. And by you, I mean everybody!

Mel's Bells contains handmade (by me) beaded products, including many styles of prayer beads from Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist, Jewish, Pagan, and other faiths. Also I offer a selection of jewelry and fun barware, all embellished with beads for your buying and giving pleasure.

I hand-chain and hand-tie all my prayer beads, bracelets, and rosaries. All materials are clearly marked and/or described; I especially love to work with natural stones, wood, coral, glass, and wire.

Also surf on over to my blog at http://www.melsbellsjewelry.com/blog and see what's ringing my bells today.

All Destash items have moved to my new shop at http://www.etsy.thebeadandbean.com, so please head over there for great deals on supplies I'm reselling, as well as some that I've made myself.

I've just created a Pinterest (embracing another crowd) which can be viewed at www.pinterest.com/MelsBellsJewels and features (thus far) jewelry designs, some of my product, and green building ideas.

Thanks again for visiting. The shop is changing all the time, so check back often. I hope the day finds you with a smile on your face and a song in your heart! :-D

melsbellsjewelry's Shop Policies

Welcome

My jewelry is my art, and I am very proud of my work. I know that you will be proud to wear it too, so let me know what you like about your purchases.

I believe that supporting local farmers and growers will save the world, and that maximum self-sufficiency is key to a happy life. I also believe that each of us has the power to change the world, and that by voting with our dollars and by working together, we can make great things happen. (I believe a lot of other things too, but you'll have to check out my blog to read about them!)

Many of the components and beads in my pieces are repurposed from old or broken items, and all are original designs. Except for a few items, every piece is one-of-a-kind; you won't ever see another woman wearing the same necklace!

Payment

Online I accept PayPal and credit/debit cards through PayPal. At shows I will accept cash, personal checks (with ID), and credit.

This is generally not a problem with PayPal, but if your payment doesn't post within three days of your purchase, I may cancel your order and relist the item so someone else can buy it.

Shipping

If your package's actual shipping costs are less than my estimated costs by $1 or more, I will refund the difference to you. (I don't use shipping to pad my profit margin.)

I use USPS First Class for much of my shipping (except as required for international shipments - see below) because it's the most economical option; for higher price items, I use USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation for security. Prayer beads will be shipped in velvet or satin pouches. I try not to buy new packaging so forgive the old labels please.

If you would like to use a different shipping service than my default, I will be happy to update the shipping cost to include it; just convo or email me. I ship orders within 48 hours of your payment clearing, excluding days when the Post Office is closed; often I ship the same day that I receive the order.

If you are local in the Kitsap area and you'd like to save on shipping, you can pick up your purchase at one of my local events or we can meet. Use coupon code FREELOCALSHIP983 at checkout and we'll set up a place and time.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS - I welcome international orders and I am committed to getting shipments to every country quickly and in accordance with all appropriate customs laws. To that end I am currently updating my prices to account for individual countries' import restrictions, such as required shipping methods. I have also removed certain countries from shipping availability because unfortunately they prohibit shipment of jewelry items. It's all pretty involved and sometimes confusing, so if you have any questions or concerns about the cost of shipment to your country, please convo me and I'll be happy to go over the details with you.

Refunds and Exchanges

I'm very proud of my work, and my goal is for you to be a happy owner of my handmade, wearable art. If you aren't satisfied with your purchase, get in touch within seven (7) days and I'll do my best to make it right. That may mean exchanging the item, repairing it for you, or refunding the purchase price.

Please open your package and examine your purchase right away. If the stones don't quite match your blouse or it otherwise doesn't meet your expectations, contact me within seven (7) days of receipt and I'll be happy to refund your purchase price.

I do recommend you keep your receipt and other purchase info; I keep my own records but it will streamline the process if you can get me the pertinent information in the first contact.

Also, I need you to return the item in a satisfactory manner, in the original packaging. You are responsible to pay the return shipping; I will pay for shipment of any replacement or repaired piece back to you.

If you have a good experience, please leave feedback. If you have a bad experience, please convo or email me first so that I can make it right. Remember, I'm in it for you!

Additional Policies and FAQs

Yes I am willing to do custom orders; please contact me with details. Because many components I find are repurposed from other pieces, I may not be able to get the exact clasp or focal piece; however, I will do my best to provide similar alternatives.

Also I am willing to do wholesale work with a $250 minimum order at 50% of retail price. Again, get in touch directly so we can work out details.

I wear every new design to check for durability, and I test each connection on each piece to make sure it is secure. Not only do I wear my own jewelry, but many of my friends and family have road-tested my designs over the years. So I'm very confident in the quality of my workmanship and I'm certain you will be satisfied with your purchase. However, if you do have the unfortunate experience of seeing a necklace disintegrate into a shower of seed beads, please save as much of the material as you can and let me know right away so we can work out the repair.
