Handmade for life!

I love putting fresh spins on vintage duds. When not pouring my creative soul into Mend and Alter, I share lifestyle pics on my blog Alysa Larose (formerly the Kitschy Krafter).

I live in Alaska. Anchorage, to be exact.

I am mostly self-taught in my making and owe most of my learning to the early Internet and to the library, where you can find me most weekends. Nose deep in the stacks.

All items listed in my shop are handmade with love, from Alaska.

Glad you could stop by the shop. New items added on a whim and when the moods strikes!

I eat grocery store sushi (openly) and have too many bags filled with maker supplies. It's just how I roll. Also, my camera is always in hand - video / photos, whichever works for the moment - I live in Alaska!

Shop policies

Last updated on January 5, 2016
Ahoy! If you find yourself stopping by the shop policies of my section either: 1) You are wavering on the line of purchase, or 2) You have your item but would like to make an exchange or return.

[A third option is that you simply find easy reading entertainment from going through droll and dry shop policies of various shops - I refuse to acknowledge this option.]

Either way, happy to have you here. Any questions - please drop me a line (via convo).

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
At Mend and Alter making you a happy camper is my main priority -- I want to make sure that you are truly satisfied with your purchase.

If you have any sizing or color questions, convo me and I am happy to send you additional information.

If you are not satisfied for any reason, simply return the unused item in its original condition within 10 days of receiving the item.

I believe in a transparent return process - here’s how it works:

1. Return Authorization Number (RAN):

Email me at alysawooden [at] gmail [dot] com explaining why you wish to return the item. I will give you a RAN number. Write the RAN number in the original invoice that I sent you. Sorry, returns will not be accepted without this number.

2. Package Your Return:

Safely package the item you are returning -- include the invoice with the RAN number, and any free gifts that came with the item. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer.

3. Insure Your Package:

Insuring your package is extremely important. Please also make sure to get a tracking confirmation for your order. If your order is lost in the mail, or for some other reason does not make it to me, I will not refund you. BUT, you may be able to receive the value of your returned item from your postal carrier if it was properly insured. So, get that puppy insured!

4. Refund:

Upon receiving the package, I will review the item. A refund will be issued if the item is in its original condition.

Quickie review of the details:

-- All items must be returned in their original condition, without signs of wear.

-- Products that have been worn, damaged or altered are not refundable, and will be returned to the customer at their expense.

-- Free gifts that were included in the purchase must also be returned.

-- Special and custom made orders are not refundable.

-- I do not refund shipping costs.

Orders ship out (from Alaska) within three to five business days.

To my international friends: At this time, Mend and Alter does not ship overseas. [Double sad face emoji and/or corresponding “sticker.”]
