5 out of 5 starsTook weeks to arrive, UK to Canada, to Chicago… but the item itself is lovely.

Hi William, So glad you love this beautiful pendant. We did notice that Chicago customs took a week to process your package which is unfortunate because typically our US packages are processed and cleared within a day. I didn't see on your tracking that your item went to Canada though, perhaps it was another package you were expecting?

Frequently asked questions
How does layaway work?
For purchases over £125/$150 we offer a free 60 day layaway plan. A 25% deposit is required to reserve the item for you with the balance due in 60 days.
We are flexible with the payments towards the balance as long as it is paid within the 60 day layaway term. You can schedule them at your own convenience and decide how much and when you want to pay. Simply let us know when you are ready to make an installment and we will send you a link to pay.
A longer layaway term may be agreeable depending on the item cost and we are happy to discuss your individual needs with you.
Layaway payments are non-refundable. Store credit will be offered in certain circumstances, at the shops discretion.
Do you charge a restocking fee if I return an item?
No, rest assured that returned items are not subject to a restocking fee as long as they are returned in a timely manner and in original condition. We may reserve the right to charge a discretionary restocking fee if these conditions are not met.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Antique jewellery, by its very nature, is more fragile than modern jewellery and can be more prone to damage. Many of our pieces are 150 years old or more, it is part of their charm and they will require special care.
We guarantee all our items as described but can not guarantee they won't need maintenance or repair due to use and wear. With a modicum of care, the jewelry you are fond of can last many more lifetimes to come.
We accept no responsibility for pieces that become damaged whilst in your possession and such damaged items cannot be returned.
Do you offer ring sizing?
We do offer a re-sizing service for our rings please contact us with your ring size for a cost estimate. Please be aware that if you choose to have a ring sized, or a piece altered in any way, it is considered a customised item and is non-returnable.
Can I place a custom order?
We are unable to show our entire collection in our Etsy shop so if you are looking for something that we don't have please feel free to contact us by email, phone or through our website. We have many more items in stock than are listed and may have the perfect piece.
How do you identify and date your jewellery?
We do our utmost to accurately date and describe our jewellery. We use a variety of techniques, testing and observation. All precious metals are tested. We use both electronic testing equipment (Presidium Gold Karat Tester) and acid testing. All gemstones are tested with the Presidium Gemstone Tester and we use industry standard gauges and digital calipers for measuring gemstones. When we have jewelry appraised we use independent gemologists and jewellers who have no connection to or vested interest in our shop.
Your shop is located in the UK but your shop currency is in US dollars, why is that?
We opened our Etsy store in 2010 in the USA. Since then we have relocated to the UK but we continue to sell in US dollars because it is our shops default currency. We do have a website at www.mercymadge.com where our shop currency is GB pounds. Although prices may differ slightly depending on the current exchange rate you can buy at either location in your currency of choice.
How do I return an item?
If you wish to return your item for a refund then simply get in touch within 3 days of receipt by sending us an Etsy message or email us at info@mercymadge.com Items must be returned in original condition and buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If you have an international return be sure to adhere to the additional instructions below:
How do I return an item from outside the UK?
Items must be returned in the original packaging with the UK customs form visible. To avoid delays and unnecessary import charges use the correct declaration on your local customs form. Declare your package as RETURNED GOODS (do not check/tick "merchandise" or "sale of goods") Any import costs incurred by Mercy Madge due to errors in labelling may be deducted from the refund owed.
If you need additional assistance with your return please get in touch, we are more than happy to help.
