I love them❤ Every single one is very detailed and beautifully finished by hand. You can see the love and care that went into making these pendants. They have a solid old world feel to them that's perfectly balanced by the high polish. The seller couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Many thanks!

So fun and whimsical. Great quality and craftsmanship. I have lots of this color in my wardrobe so I have a feeling I will be wearing them quite often. Thank you!

What a score! I found this threesome of barnacles in this preserved condition and with a straight back like someone cut these off of their boat or dock. boat
I LOVE custom orders! If you want something made for you with these barnacles, please convo me!
This is "The Dock of the Bay!" That appears in quite a few of my local New England images.

About

A tale of Rhode Island sea glass, lost wax casting and seaside photography.

My passion for sea glass hunting drives me to spend countless hours on the beach. The beach combing naturally progressed into handcrafting stunning distinctive sea glass jewelry. I use only sea glass that is naturally tumbled in the ocean and all of our jewelry is made with sea glass that we collected ourselves on secret beaches on Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island U.S.A..

Sea glass is naturally formed from tumbling for many years against the waves and sand. The combination of the location, winds, tides, sand and gravel make the sea glass frost smooth and shapes it into the beautiful pieces of history. Some of these pieces are 50-100 years old and would have come from old bottles discarded in dumps or thrown from ships. No two pieces of sea glass are the same, which makes them truly unique in nature, each revealing a distinct color, texture and shape. Each of these colorful collectible sea shore, one of a kind gems are hand selected for our unique jewelry. I transform the pieces of sea glass into striking earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and accessories that are one of a kind heirlooms.

My sea glass jewelry showcases a variety of natural sea glass colors combined with unique charms, beads and natural elements. I like to work with bone, abalone, wood, glass, shells, seeds and paper. Our favorite metals are copper and sterling silver. Cabochons encapsulate the setting and allow us to share my photography work in special necklaces with secret hideaways.

This year, I started metalsmithing and initially thought she would be setting sea glass into rings and such but her work took a different turn than that. She has been working with OOAK burn out castings and all kinds of lost wax casting techniques. It's allowed us to do something very fun with the glass and shells that's even older than them. Lost wax casting is said to be about 5000 years old when our sea glass is 50-maybe 200 years old. This all melds together nicely.

I am an avid sea glass hunter. I love working the pieces into unique jewelry designs. I have been creating with the 5000 year old art of lost wax casting and making seaside fine art photography. My work is a blend of these mediums. Enjoy.

Welcome to Mermaid Tears Sea Glass and seaside photography. We are a family based business with each of us having our talents and contribution. Donna is by far the best sea glass hunter I have ever met, she will spend hours on a beach many would spend an hour and this patience doesn't stop there because she is also the one to find matches amongst our bounties! Mel's interests are more of the unique and nautical design, not that she can't hunt like a queen but certainly is the the designer. Welcome, enjoy your visit to our shop!

Shipping
I am able to ship most items Monday through Friday and if things are busy, Saturday also. Please check your item for how long it's expected to take.

I usually ship USPS 1st Class within the United States and globally I use First Class International. Certain items ship priority or flat rate and for those, it will be indicated within the listing.

All of my packages have tracking and I am willing to add services as long as you pay for them. Convo me for anything you need.
Refunds and Exchanges
Items can be returned if buyer is not happy for any reason within 7 days after receiving item. Buyer to pay return shipping.

In the case of breakage or a lost item, I would choose something as close to possible to what it is you lost or got broken and I will replace the missing item with something of similar to higher value.

Most times, I do need the broken earring to make it a match or the necklace to attach a new clasp. In this case, buyer pays all shipping and small fee for replacement of the parts not to exceed their value.

If something just up's and breaks immediately or due to no fault of your own, I am very happy to correct the situation and I will replace the missing item with something of similar to higher value. I would choose something as close to possible to what it is you lost or got broken. I would rather have my customers pay a couple of dollars to get a handmade pair of earring repaired by me than get upset. I always take care of my customers...
Additional policies and FAQs
Trade friendly, local pickup if possible.

I am wholesale interested. Wholesale orders would have to be lost wax castings rather than OOAK sea glass creations. With that being said, I can give better pricing if you decide to buy something in a bulk or have me make something that turns out to be a large order.
