Lot's of love wrapped up in each little stitch or glue dot :)

My shop name came about when those encouraging friends nicknamed me "Merri Poppins" due to all of the crafty things I make along with a special cupcake I make for the children's class parties (I'm a mom to 4). Taste testers agree those cupcakes are "practically perfect in every way!" Not to mention I love all things Disney so it was kind of fitting. I opened my FB shop in April 2012 due to some encouragement from a few friends. Early on, I teamed up with a local photographer Becca Duval to bring you trending fashions in children and tweens on her Fashion blog. I was also a part of a pattern review group for about a year at Pattern Revolution (which was a ton of fun!). Since this shop has grown with leaps and bounds I have been devoting all of my time here on Etsy creating new costumes and dress ups for your littles!!! Each item is literally hand crafted by me so no 2 items are identical. I buy quality cotton and knit fabrics to ensure durability and long lasting play. Requests for new creations are always welcomed!!! Halloween orders start coming in AUG 1 and spots fill up fast! Shipping delays can occur during busy times. General order info is located in the ANNOUNCEMENT section and is updated fairly often. Please include any important information in the notes section at checkout. :)

If for any reason you are not, I will be happy to exchange any product with another product of equal value if the item is returned within 7 business days of the arrival date and in the same condition: NEW, UNOPENED, NO DAMAGE, NOT USED OR WORN

If you have issues or exchange requests, please contact me within 3 days of package arrival. You will be responsible for paying the difference and shipping. With this being a small shop I do not offer refunds, so please read all my policies before ordering. Custom orders are final and may not be returned.

Returns are only for exchanges of equal value. Placing an order signifies that you agree to these policies.

Due to the nature of a small handmade shop, I have a NO cancelation policy. However, if I am contacted before your order starts processing (buying supplies or sewing of items) there is an extremely small window I can work with to accommodate you.

Shipping
I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH TO BE AWARE OF INDIVIDUAL PROCESSING TIMES LOCATED ON EACH ITEM. Generally your purchase will mail out without any issue whatsoever. I'm typically on schedule or earlier than expected. BUT during times of high demand such as HALLOWEEN (orders for Halloween start rolling in AUG 1), it may take me longer to ship depending on which costume I am making for you. Which means it could go past the ship by date and typically I will message you and let you know what's going on.

I encourage you to let me know if things are for a special trip to Disney or for a birthday etc. ESPECIALLY in these high volume times (AUG 1-OCT 30). At check out in the notes section, please include any information that you want me to know....NEED BY DATE, change in color, measurements, or anything you think is important for me to know for your special order :) I do want to make your purchasing experience a pleasant one!! If at any time you have questions, please ask!!! I typically respond right away to messages :)

**Need by date is the absolute last day you want your item to arrive in the mail to you.** If you have plans to use this item at a specific time on a specific day, your need by date should be listed as the day before your event. Please remember I do not know what time your mail delivers to your address. If your event is at 10am and your mail normally delivers at 5pm and you have listed your need by date as the same day as the event...sadly I do not think you will have it in time. I do my very best to get your item to you as quickly as I can. Remember, most of these items are handmade when ordered so they do take some time :)

Priority shipping 2-3 days
Priority Express shipping 1-2 days

Once I have shipped the item out (IN TRANSIT), I have no control over shipping times. A notification of a printed label does not mean the post office has it in their possession. If it's still in PRE TRANSIT I can most likely change the shipping to whatever you need. I will however try to work with you and do everything in my power to make sure your items reach you safely and in a timely manor. It is always best to click on the package tracking number for your shipment and follow the link all the way to USPS to get the most accurate update of where your package is located and estimated arrival.

**if you purchase more than 1 item and I am able to ship them together, they will be shipped together. No need to waste shipping supplies or pay extra in shipping fees :)

While Etsy is redefining handmade, I just want you to know that when you buy from Merri Poppins, you are buying quality items made right here in the USA by my two hands. Everything from making each item, packaging, shipping, answering emails, and running the entire business is a one woman show.

Please be responsible and don't leave any accessories with an unattended child who may put them in their mouth!

"I know it says your items takes time but I thought it would have shipped by now. Can I have an update on the item please?"

Absolutely! I typically answer messages as I receive them throughout the day so generally I will message you back asap. Your ship by date is key in when it will actually ship out. Unless I have messaged you with an issue, your order will be put in the mail on that date or sooner. It just depends on how many items I'm currently sewing each day.

"I'm afraid my item won't make it to me in time and I really need this for our vacation! I should have ordered sooner. Can I have this shipped to a different address?"

Absolutely! Just send me a message with the info and I will get that shipped to you. I have mailed items to just about everywhere! Including vacation locations :)

"Etsy indicated upon ordering that the order would be fulfilled and shipped by today. I have yet to hear anything or receive communication from you. Is this order still on track for shipment by today? If not I would like to cancel as I’ve waited long enough."

I'm so sorry your feeling like that. I am typically very responsive if a question has been asked through convos or in the note section. It is on track to ship on the date Etsy stated when you ordered. You will get a notification of shipping very soon. I do not accept cancellations however, I do offer exchanges. That may or may not accrue additional time as items are made when ordered. I do not have a stock room of different sizes to pull from unfortunately (that would be pretty awesome if I did!!!).

"If ordered today, when will I get this?"

Turnaround times are listed with each listing and vary. If it says 2-3 weeks, I will ship it out within the 2-3 week time period. If you are planning for an event, I suggest using the last date of that range incase it does take me the entire 3 weeks (or whatever is stated for your listing). As for when it will arrive to you, that depends on which shipping you choose. 1st class mail is usually 2-5 days depending on your location. Priority 2-3 day mail is a few dollars more and most are a 2 day delivery. Priority Express mail is usually a 1-2 day delivery. SO which ever mailing option you choose, add that amount of mailing time to your ship by date and you will have a better idea of when it will arrive from my studio to your doorstep :)

"If I like a certain fabric seen in one of your listings, can I have it made in a different style from another listing?"

ABSOLUTELY! That would be a custom order and I will be more than happy to make that for you :) If you want to make changes or create something that you do not see offered in my shop, please let me know!! I love adding new characters to the mix :)

"How can I cancel my order?"

"Do you have any coupon codes for a discount?"

I rarely run sales....maybe 1 or 2 a year. So if I do have one going on, you should jump on it!!! I realize everyone is watching their dollars...I am too :) I try to price my items as fair as I possibly can. I believe well made items should not cost an arm, leg or your first born. I use quality materials and if I get a great price on fabric, I pass those savings onto my customers immediately. I do give a discount on 3 or more dresses purchased at the same time...so if you know you need several items made it's best to order in bulk :)

"What type of custom orders do you offer?"

I can customize several things...

Colors and fabrics!! If you like the style of one dress but want it in a different color than is listed, I can help with that. Or if there is a part of a costume you want to change, I can help with that.

Sizing!! If you want to add some length, fullness to a skirt, width to the bodice, or sleeve length... I can help with that. Most of the time small changes does not change the pricing.

I can change the patterns that I use in my shop to suit some needs. Sometimes I can use parts of different patterns to create what you are looking for. However, I do not draft patterns from scratch or tailor fit items. Body measurements are required.

Embroidery!! Only hand embroidery offered at this time :)

"What are your shop hours?"

I'm located on the east coast so my time zone is EST. I'm typically ALWAYS in my office Mon-Fri from 8am to 5pm. I do work at other times like weekends, early morning and late evening hours but those vary according to my kids scheduled events.

"I ordered 3 separate items, why are you shipping them together?"

Unless you want them to go to 3 separate addresses, then they will most likely ship together. I already offer free first class shipping shop wide :) If all 3 of your items are ready to ship, typically you will get bumped up to a priority shipping mailer. The reason for this is that it's more cost effective....I spend less in shipping and less in mailing materials. Of course if there is a specific need for it to be sent separately just communicate that to me at checkout. I'm more than happy to accommodate :)

"What shipping services are available?"

I mail items through USPS first class or priority shipping. If you would like me to use a different carrier than what shows up as an option, please contact me with this information BEFORE you place your order. I offer FREE first class shipping with all orders with USPS. All shipping upgrades such as priority or using another carrier will accrue additional charges. Please choose the shipping that suits your need best :)
