About

Jewelry that Inspires the Wearer and Challenges the Admirer

Here's what I think:
Beauty is all around us, if you are willing to see it . And when you can recognize that, there is so much less to fear.

Who is my jewelry for?
I create distinctive jewelry for women who are curious about the natural world around them and for women who aren't satisfied with the limitations others use to define what beauty is. My jewelry empowers the wearer and challenges the admirer!

About the Jewelry:
Metal, Cloth & Wood jewelry is created using the most eco-friendly practices where ever and whenever possible. The precious metals used in the process are primarily green-certified and all of the silversmithing chemicals & tools employed are vegan and as environmentally friendly as is available -- I even go so far as to mixing up some of my own concoctions to ensure the treatments are as safe as they can be. And any metal scraps are carefully collected so that they, too, can be recycled into beautiful jewelry some day.

What Inspires Me:
The natural world offers up unparalleled beauty and endless surprises and variations that keep me constantly inspired and in awe. My willingness to challenge everything and always seek out my own truths enables me to create distinctive pieces that are as authentically unique as the women I design for.

Summertime is where my heart lives. I am happiest amongst the sounds of daytime cicada serenades and night time cricket lullabies.

  • a casting & mold-making service

    New York, NY

This place is a trusted resource for New York based jewelry designers. They do a superb job casting anything that I bring to them & I can feel good about using their silver in my pieces as all of their silver is "green" certified recycled.

My name is Johanna Wood and this is my Etsy shop. If you're reading this right now, you probably saw something you liked in my shop, so thank you!

A little bit about me: I'm obsessed with making stuff. AND I love that my designs bring happiness to others -- and that's really what it's all about, right?

I use the greenest, most eco-friendly components & processes I can find -- from the jewelry materials and tools to the packaging and shipping materials. A lot of my pieces even contain certified green & recycled sterling silver!

I also enjoy sending off a check every year to the Popcorn Park animal rescue and refuge in Forked River, NJ. They are a non-profit HSUS affiliate that not only rescues cats and dogs, but they also provide a beautiful forever home to thousands of injured wild, exotic and domestic animals that have nowhere else to go; I donate $1 from every sale to this organization and I love that every year, my check to them gets a little bit bigger...

Payment
As soon as payment is received via PayPal, if it's something I currently have in stock, I usually ship within 24 hours, Sunday thru Friday and within 48 hours if payment is received on a Saturday.

However, for made to order items, please allow at least two weeks for me to make your item for you. Depending on the work flow, I may be able to expedite your order, but it's always a good idea to ask first...
Shipping
The prices for shipping listed here in my Etsy shop are for USPS 2-3 day Priority Mail (domestic,) *Registered First Class Mail (for UK and Canada only) and First Class for all other countries.

If you need this something guaranteed FASTER than that or you need me to expedite the order, please send me a convo before you place the order.

RE: *International shipping charges: The prices reflect the required shipping options. For instance, some countries require registered shipping for sterling silver because of additional restrictions (i.e. Canada and the U.K.). Registered shipping is much more expensive than regular shipping but it is also a very safe way to go, so if you are making an international purchase from a country other than Canada or the UK, I can send registered at your request, but you would need to notify me asap so I can make arrangements for that.

*Buyers are responsible for any duty or import taxes on items shipped internationally.
Refunds and Exchanges
When you receive the item, if you feel for any reason that the item is not right for you, I will accept anything back within two weeks for a full refund (minus the cost of shipping)

Please make sure to send the item back in the condition you received it in and please make sure to purchase tracking and insurance from your shipping service provider; I won't be able to issue a refund if the item is lost in shipping.

Once the item is safely returned I will refund you via PayPal immediately upon its receipt.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you have a custom jewelry request, please send me a convo. I can't guarantee I will be able to do it, but I usually say yes!

Please note that all jewelry comes beautifully packaged and ready to present as a gift in a Green Seal Certified 100% recycled fiber (80% post-consumer) jewelry box complete with a non-tarnish synthetic cotton pad and a hand sewn keepsake envelope in a rich red tarnish-proof cloth.
