A very pretty little ring. It combines the elegance, delicacy, and expensive look of a jewelry-store piece with the originality of design and handmade indefinable funkiness of an artisan's work. I requested a dark stone, and the amethyst is a nice deep purple. I was prepared to wait the five or six weeks the shop advised it would take to make and ship the ring, but it came much faster than that. I am happy with the purchase and will most likely shop with Metalicious again.

About

Unique heirloom quality jewelry handmade in NYC

In 1995 I was in a boring job and was desperate to be creative using my hands. I took myself to the local art school but the pottery class I was interested in was closed. Hmm. The only thing left was a metalsmithing class. So I hammered my heart out and have never looked back. I still have what looks like a tin-can I forged from copper sitting on my jewelry bench. It reminds me how close I came to missing out on my true calling as a jeweler. You won't find anything mass-produced here, it all comes from my own heart and hands.

I'm so thankful every day to be able to do what I love to pay my bills. I'm grateful to the Etsy community and my clients for always supporting me.

Our environment is very important to me, so I use recycled fine metals and humanely sourced gemstones in my work. I also use green practices in running my business as much as possible. I'd like to leave as small a footprint in the ecosystem as I can and hope I can be a positive example for my kids for a better future.

Jewelry is my true passion, I love creating things that bring joy to people, that represent milestones, that make people laugh. Working with people to make something that brings joy to their hearts makes it worth it to me.

Metalicious is fun, fashionable jewelry for passionate people. I have been making jewelry for 15 years. I believe in creating high quality, wearable styles. Since everything is made by my hands, most of the pieces in my shop can be customized to suit your needs and budget. Colors, metals and gemstones can be changed so that you can have the jewelry of your dreams.

I take great pride in my work and you can feel confident when purchasing from my shop that everything was made with great care and I stand behind every item that I make. I am so thankful to be able to do what I love to support my family, and I wouldn't be able to do that without you. Thank you!

Shipping
Please make sure your shipping address on Etsy is updated, that is the address I will use. Please note, I do not ship to Russia as it is prohibited by law.

Packaging:
All orders are ready for gifting. Every Metalicious piece of jewelry comes in a customized gift box tied with a bow.

DOMESTIC: My standard shipping charge is for USPS Priority shipping within the U.S. and includes tracking and signature confirmation. This means you must be there to sign for your package. If you'd like insurance on your item please convo me for pricing (it's generally $2-5 extra).

Please contact me before checkout if you'd prefer $3 First Class (7-10 days) instead of Priority (2-3 days). I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

UK: It is illegal to ship jewelry from the US to the UK using USPS (United States Postal Service) so I ship via Fedex.

INTERNATIONAL, NOT UK: I will ship your item via USPS Priority mail. There is no tracking and I cannot control how long it will take to get through customs or if it gets lost. I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages. I am not responsible for paying additional taxes or tariffs imposed by customs. You can check here to see what the duty will be for your country: http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/ You can have the option for $5 shipping via regular USPS Int'l. If you prefer the regular USPS $3 option please let me know and I will adjust the listing for you. Additionally if you'd like tracking on your package I can ship it via Fedex for about $90. Please convo me for the exact amount since it differs by country.

All MADE-TO-ORDER items (for example all rings) will take a minimum of 4 weeks from date of payment. If you need it sooner, please convo me before ordering. I guarantee shipment for all REGULAR items in my shop within 1-3 business days from payment M-F. If you need it sooner than that please convo me for overnight shipping costs.
Refunds and Exchanges
All my items are made to withstand general wear. However if a piece is in need of repair based on normal wear I will be happy to repair it within 6 months. Any repairs or sizings, etc done by a jeweler other than Metalicious voids this guarantee. Metalicious is not responsible for tangled chains. I would be happy to replace a tangled chain for a fee, just convo me.

Because custom orders including rings in your size are unique, there will be no cancellations, returns or refunds. I can re-size for a fee. Please contact me if you have any questions.

For ready to ship items, I do not accept returns after 30 days, or if the jewelry shows wear. You must return your item in the original packaging and in a padded envelope. Please contact me before you return so I can give you instructions about where to ship. There is a 25% re-stocking fee for cancelled orders.

Care of Jewelry:
Keep your jewelry in a clean, dry place such as a fabric-lined jewelry box or wrapped in a soft piece of cloth. Store pieces individually so they do not scratch one another and keep away from direct exposure to sunlight and air.
Avoid bringing jewelry into contact with perfume, hairspray or harsh chemicals such as bleach or chlorine. It is best to put jewelry on last while getting dressed and to remove while washing hands, performing housework, swimming, or engaging in other strenuous activity. It's not recommended to wear your gemstone jewelry around heat (stoves, ovens, saunas, etc) as it can permanently damage your gemstones.

Over time, silver, and to a lesser extent, gold, will tarnish with exposure to air, chemicals, and oils in the skin. Pieces are best cleaned using a soft cotton cloth or felt with mild, non-abrasive soap and warm water. Be very careful not to dislodge any stones or wires. Rinse pieces thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storing. For best results, clean pieces periodically and handle with care.

Matte/satin finish:
Over time matte jewelry burnishes with wear. It can be re-matted by rubbing with a paste of baking soda and water, or gently brushing with a green 3M scrub pad. Blackened silver gradually fades with wear. While many people appreciate the unique patina, I can re-oxidize your piece for the cost of shipping.

Note: Do not use tissue paper or paper towel for cleaning, as their fibers can result in scratching. Do not use commercial cleaners on your jewelry. Use soap and water and a soft cloth.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please keep in mind my jewelry is made with care by my own two hands. I am not a machine so each piece may have a slight variation from what is pictured. I create high-quality handmade jewelry, not mass manufactured or machined pieces (nothing wrong with that, just not the kind of work I do). I hope you love my jewelry as much as I love creating it for you.

IS YOUR ITEM A GIFT? Etsy will let you add a different address when you check out. Instead of an invoice I will include a personalized message from you to the recipient, enter whatever you'd like me to write in the 'notes to seller' when you check out.

PACKAGING:
Every Metalicious jewel comes in a gift box, depending upon the size and style of jewelry you purchase will dictate what kind of box I use to package up my work. If you have any questions, please let me know.

SIZING:
If you're concerned about what your finger size is, I'm now offering these ring sizers in my Etsy shop. You keep your set and I have a set in my studio to make sure any rings I make for you will fit you perfectly. http://etsy.me/1OKH5Qo

IS YOUR JEWELRY PLATED?
No, plating will wear off over time, leaving an uneven finish on your rings. None of my jewelry is plated.

IS YOUR WHITE GOLD NICKEL-FREE?
Yes. I use a special alloy of white gold that has palladium in it instead of nickel (which many people are allergic to). The color is a darker gray than silver, but still very white so that none of my white gold rings need to be plated. I take great care in every aspect of my jewelry, choosing the metals is certainly at the top of the list.

FAQ:
Q: Can you recycle the metal from my jewelry into your work?
A: I'm so sorry, but at this time I can't.

Q: Can you use my gemstones in your designs?
A: Due to the liability involved I do not use customer supplied stones in my jewelry.

Q: What is recycled silver?
A: Recycled sterling silver means that the metals I use in my work have been refined from old jewelry and turned back into usable precious metals instead of mined from the earth. My metal suppliers purchase their fine metals from a refiner who gets jewelry that has been sold for scrap, melts it down and purifies it so that it's the same as traditionally alloyed sterling silver made from mined fine silver. There is much less impact on the earth which is very important to me.

Q: Do you sell wholesale?
A: Only my Modern Rock line at the moment.

Q: How do I convert my International ring size to US ring size?
A: Use this ring size conversion chart: http://www.onlineconversion.com/ring_size.htm
