Rustic Jewelry Designs, Quality Handmade Craftsmanship at Affordable Prices

Forging metal from a flat metal sheets into 3 dimensional jewelry is a wonderful marvel for me…delightfully magical. I make handmade metal jewelry for people who are looking for something special with rustic style yet sophisticated designs! I just love making jewelry that emerges with great shape, texture and movement. All pieces are designed and fabricated by me in Minneapolis. Find a piece that makes you look and feel your own kind of beautiful. Each piece is truly unique, one of a kind treasure for you or a gift for someone special.

I am a self taught metalsmith creating unique jewelry. Learning with help from some of the best metalsmiths like Mark Nelson from RioGrande.com, Nancy L T Hamilton and Lisa Colby, I have honed my skills.

The words from my customers are very encouraging for me about my jewelry design and quality:

"Love the multiple layers and textures on these earrings. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship are evident. Amazing attention to detail!"

"Susie....I am in love with these earrings....They are not only lighter than air but also so finely crafted....I only wear hand made earrings...But these are my favorite of all time! Thank you for such beautiful work! "

"love, love, love all the pieces that I ordered! Excellent workmanship! Pleasure to purchase from....went above and beyond with some custom work. Will definitely be back. :-)!"

"Love all of my custom pieces. Susie is easy to work with and makes quality jewelry."

I hold myself to high standards for my business including these ideals that I follow to give you the best product value possible:

High quality at good value: I feel very strongly about providing handmade jewelry at prices customers can afford. I offer a wide variety of prices based on the complexity of the pieces, the technique and materials used. This allows everyone to find handmade items in their price range. Even though I am a small shop, I work to keep my cost as low as possible.

Low tech: I love to hit metal with my hammers. There is something really satisfying to see the change of flat metal bending and turning into a unique and beautiful form. My pieces have great movement in three dimensional shapes. Since I do not have any high tech machines or expensive equipment, I do all this metalsmithing with hand tools. All handmade and hand crafted.

Recycle: I try to use found objects and recycled metals where I can. Vacations at the beach are especially a great location to find stones and glass of all varieties adding a special touch to the designs. I also try to keep my packaging to a minimum to reduce waste.

Give back: I donate a portion of every sale to the MS organization. I know several people impacted by this disease and am happy to be part of finding a cure. My daughter and I ride in the yearly MS150 2 day bike ride from Duluth to Minneapolis. We have raised over $10,000 through the years from Metaling Susie sales donations and other direct donations. Thanks to my customers and friends for making this possible!

My jewelry is also in several retail shops across the country. If you have a retail shop where my jewelry would fit into your offerings, please drop me a note for wholesale information. Happy to work with you to provide high value handmade jewelry for your customers.

Additional policies and FAQs
Handcrafted metal jewelry will naturally tarnish over time. To get the shine back, just rub gently with a silver polishing cloth. I include a small polish pad in each order.

While the jewelry pieces are sturdy, please handle with care to ensure long lasting enjoyment. Metal jewelry can withstand a drop to the floor, but one with a ceramic bead may chip or break for example. Be careful not to snag the ear wire or protruding design elements in order to maintain their intended shape. Best not to shower or swim with the jewelry on.

Earring ear wires are specially shaped to avoid rubbing against your neck. The start of the ear wire is angled forward instead of traditional pointing backwards. To put into your ear lobe hole, just lower the angle of the ear wire.

I use recycled metal in my offerings as much as possible. I have several suppliers that processed metal scraps into recycled metal sheets. You may also find natural items like stones in the some of the offerings that I have found throughout Minnesota.

Send me a note as I am very interested in any feedback you may have so I can continue to improve my offerings. Thanks!
