About

Beads and Resin

I'm a 3rd generation Seattlite, that now lives in NW Montana. I went from a metro area of over a million, to a town of about 2000. Instead of sirens every night, now I hear owls and every so often a bear. I love it here. My journey here goes like this:

I started weaving with seed beads in 1990. In 2000 I got a job at a popular Seattle bead store where I eventually became a product manager, I learned our products and told the staff about as much as I could, whether it be about seed beads, tools, crystals, alcohol dyes and of course, resin. When I attended my first workshop on resin, I was hooked. I was immediately drawn to the fact that it could 'trap' glitter (among other things).

I started making resin pendants and marketing them to local boutiques in 2010. Then a few months later, a good friend recommended I make buttons, and although I thought she was crazy, I gave it a shot.

In December of 2011, after dreaming of moving to NW Montana for 10 years (and after our adult son left), my husband and I put the necessities in our camper, and whatever couldn't fit in the smallest storage unit I could rent, was sold or given away. Our tv, beds, tables, everything that we had been collecting in the 14 years we had lived in that house.

With our son off to school, my husband and I plus our two dogs spent 3 months living in our camper as we first drove up to Bellingham, WA (just south of Canada), then down to Encinitas, CA (almost San Diego). My buttons and pendants paid for the entire trip. Every day, was a new town and a new shop.

Once back in Seattle 3 1/2 months later, we picked up our things from storage and took a couple weeks to say goodbye to family while we waited for the passes to clear up.

April 3 2012, we packed up a 6x8 trailer, plus our camper with everything we owned and headed to Montana. We stayed with great friends, while still living out of our camper and operating my 'studio' out of their garage until July 23rd when we found our little 'cabin in the woods' that was perfect for us and our stuff.

I now live and work in our cabin, and teach resin classes here, right in my bedroom/living room/studio. It's cozy, everyone's welcome.

I use a jewler's grade epoxy resin to make my resin pieces. Each piece is poured, sanded, bubble coated, and drilled by hand.

All pendants and earrings are limited editions, I'll usually make one batch and no more. The only exception to this is the pendants filled with candy, those i can recreate over and over.

All buttons can be sold in greater quantities than listed. Just send me a note and I'll create a special listing just for you.

I do offer wholesale pricing with a minimum purchase. Contact me for info.
