Handmade gifts for precious little ones
I have a tender heart for children. I believe each one is a special blessing from God. It brings me such joy to create handmade dolls for them to love and snuggle.
I have always loved to create things with my hands and began my crafting with card making and papercrafting. Once I tried my hand at sewing I was hooked. My sewing studio now bursts at the seams with fabric. My studio also brims with things that I love and inspire me.....a pencil sketch of my son and dad drawn by my husband, a vintage framed chalk drawing of a basket of roses ,baby crib springs that display photos of my family, a shelf of vintage fisher price toys, a banner made by a friend reminding me to "DREAM", my collection of "chick flicks" to watch as I sew, a vintage tiara, and vintage childrens books.
As I create each doll, I imagine how she will be loved by her new friend-- the tea parties she will attend--how she will swing to the clouds on the backyard tire swing, how she will wait on the neatly made bed for her friend to return home from school, and all the night time stories she will hear before being tucked into bed. When her new friend grows to big to play with dolls, she will wait patiently to meet her friend's little girl and for the adventures to begin once again.
