A lifelong passion for creating Jewelry
When I was a child, my Grandfather every summer took me on rock hunting trips. We searched and dug for unusual rocks that could be cut into gemstones to be made into jewelry. When I was nine he gave me my first rock polishing tools. I was hooked. By the time I was a Senior in High School I was making wedding sets. Through the years I taught jewelry-making at Community College and in my own little school at the store I owned for many years. I enjoy thinking about past students and apprentices and the work that they may be doing now. Now, at sixty-five, I am still making jewelry. I am a lot faster at it now, and my equipment is a whole lot better, and I still enjoy jewelry making with the same passion as in my younger days. I can't imagine ever doing anything else, or ever quitting.
I collect and cut gemstones by hand using diamond lapidary equipment. I then create a precious metal setting to compliment each unique finished gemstone. This completes the process of creating unique pieces of wearable art.
