Announcement    Welcome to Michael Stephens' Art.

My passion in art is in the direction of found object creations, stimulated by childhood years rummaging through rural trash dumps looking for "cool" stuff. I started working in the contemporary medium with ancient Roman glass and a box of treasure I had collected back in the 1980's and later expanded into the creation of steampunk ray guns and art objects, 3D sculptures and wall art and pastels.

My joy is derived in constantly creating new and different items. Some of my work fits into the steampunk genre, while much of it simply reflects the large pallet that found-objects offer to an artist. Most of my work is true one of a kind art. Often duplicates cannot be made because the materials used are not available for reproduction. However, my style also reflects the intensional procurement of those objects that are one-time finds. Where work is capable of being duplicated, I will inform you.

I have been honored with over 35 awards at International and national juried art shows since 2007, including best of show, and numerous 1st place in the show and 1st place in the jewelry category.

Reaching retirement age where the extensive travel became a little too much to handle we moved to Spokane WA to be near family and I now have time to focus on creating the specific art pieces that energize and intrigue me.

If you see an art piece on my store that piques your interest and stimulates an idea, feel free to contact me. I welcome commissions. An archive of some of my art work can be found on Pinterest by searching for "Michael Stephens Lion41441" and look for the "Stuff I've Made" file.

Thanks for viewing.
