Four hands, one shared brain.

This is the spot where Etsy suggests we answer the question "How does it all work?" We'll be honest: We're still figuring it out.

We are partners who share a small jewelry-making studio … and a life. We make and sell our jewelry for a living – around the U.S. Midwest at art shows and around the world thanks to this shop. It's soul-satisfying to be able to make things that people like to wear and find meaningful or beautiful.

We enjoy our work and put a lot of love and happy energy into the jewelry we create. Quality is important to both of us, and thus we make jewelry that lasts. And about that shared brain? We don't know how that works either, but the result is kind of like a wireless, open-access fileserver. It's handy.

Most of our jewelry is made from sterling silver. We often work with semiprecious gemstones, sometimes starting with small slabs of rock that we cut and polish into cabochons. We work with a lot of hand tools, two small torches, and a few small powered machines. We try to keep our footprint small, in our own consumption and in our business. Our scrap silver is gathered, saved, and recycled so nothing goes to waste.

We hope you enjoy browsing our shop! We sincerely appreciate that you support our handiwork. ~M+M

Thank you for visiting Flow Studio Jewelry!

Customer satisfaction is very important to us. We'll do our best ensure you are happy with your purchase. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, requests or concerns.

All gemstones used in our work are natural gemstones, and we cut many of our own cabochons. We do not use synthetic stones. Some of the gemstones may be enhanced using industry-accepted treatments that are durable and long-lasting. As an example; topaz is often heat-treated to create a wide range of vivid colors.

The silver and gold wire, sheet, tubing and casting grain we use are sourced from suppliers who use only recycled metals in their raw materials. This approach is better for the earth.

Returns and exchange details
First and foremost, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If, after receiving your purchase, you are not happy with it, please contact us within seven days. If the item is returned in original and unused condition, we'll be happy to refund your purchase price (less shipping and Etsy's transaction fee of 3.5%) or send you an alternate item. Please convo us to let us know of the return first. All returns must be shipped using delivery confirmation.

Sadly, we can't offer refunds on custom orders.
All orders must be paid for before shipping. Etsy adds 5.56% state sales tax for Wisconsin residents and also collects on behalf of some other states.
I will ship your jewelry purchase within 2-4 days of payment, excluding Sundays, holidays and any Saturday when we are at an art fair (art fairs are mostly a summer thing for us). I will always try my best to ship as soon as possible, and my goal is to ship within 2 days, but sometimes life happens, thus the up-to 4 day window I've given myself.

My primary shipping method is USPS first class. For jewelry; your item(s) will be packaged in a durable gift box, with appropriate padding in the gift box itself and then placed in a padded mailer. Multiple items will be sent in one mailer, but each item will be in its own gift box. Larger items will be carefully packaged and in some cases double-boxed if necessary

I use delivery confirmation and all purchases shipped to an address in the United States will be insured at no charge to my customers. Neither Michael Thee Studio nor the USPS is responsible for items after delivery has been confirmed. If a package is lost en route please contact me. I will notify the USPS and if they are unsuccessful in their attempt to locate your package, I will send you a duplicate order. Please remember that each piece is handmade and there may be some variances between pieces, but I will try to come as close as is humanly possible to matching the piece you originally ordered. That being said, I have never had a package lost.

If you would prefer alternate shipping arrangements please contact me and I will send you an invoice to cover additional shipping charges if necessary. Please remember that your purchase cannot ship until this invoice is paid.

International Orders
All international orders will be shipped USPS first class and cannot be insured. If you want your purchase shipped via USPS then you are responsible for any loss or damage. If you would like to make alternate shipping arrangements and use an insurable carrier, please contact me before purchase and I will provide you with insurable options.

International buyers are responsible for all taxes, fees, etc imposed by customs in the country of destination. Buyers are also responsible for being familiar with their country's customs regulations and procedures including possible delays that may be caused by customs. I know you already know all of this, but I have to say it anyway.
Additional policies and FAQs
Sterling silver will tarnish over time, this can be removed with a polishing cloth for those items with a high polish and a scotchbrite pad for satin finishes. The onset of tarnish can be delayed if sterling pieces are stored in air-tight plastic bags. I include an appropriately sized re-closeable bag with each piece of jewelry.

Patina/oxidized pieces will change subtly over time. Storing the pieces in a plastic bag will keep changes to a minimum. I am happy to re-patina your jewelry for you if you should ever desire, I just ask you to cover the shipping costs. The use of tarnish removing dips will remove your patina, so avoid use of these products.

Items with copper are protected with the same type of lacquer that is used to protect brass musical instruments. This coating will protect the patina that is applied to your piece. The lacquer is very durable, and can withstand cleaning and rinsing in water, but please do not soak copper pieces.

Please keep in mind that due to differences in monitors, what you see on your computer's monitor may vary somewhat from the actual item. This is true for all items in the shop and I daresay every shop in the etsy universe. My monitor is kept closely calibrated, and I try very hard to make sure the colors on my screen are as close as possible to the item you purchase, but my monitor may present an image a little differently than your monitor. The differences, if there are any, are most often minor, but it's something to keep in mind.

All photographs, both those of jewelry and those for purchase were taken by me and as such are protected by copyright. The purchase of an image does not transfer copyright, and the use of images from my etsy shop will only be allowed with permission. Thank you for understanding.
