There is something for everyone here: from stylish to kitsch; minimal to decorative, and classy to rustic. In vintage, you'll find a truly International eclectic array of finds, inc: American, British, European, South American, South Pacific and African. Welcome to my 20th Century obsession and collection of useful and decorative: kitchenalia, home wares, interior decor, objet d'art, collectibles, fashion accessories and jewellery.

Mixed in are a few of my © leslieworks handmades. They reveal my one-of-a-kind arty and crafty soul, being raised by artist parents in California. Look for upcycled, paper crafts, textile accessories and trinkets.

Please feel free to message me for any custom made, or special vintage items you are looking for. I have lots of stock to list, and I am also always on the lookout for new cheery and classy finds, so feel free to make a special request. I am a seamstress by trade, so can sew just about anything.

All of my own creations there, and here are carefully and lovingly made, and carry my © leslieworks label. My vintage wares are also treated with care, cleaned and/or mended if need be. Updates

Stunning set of 6 crystal mini stemmed goblets, fine Drinkwater.
Finally listed this baby. This one is quite tall, at 32 cm. Polished her up nicely with some linseed oil and she's all ready for a new home.
I bought this amazing French shutter a few years back from Little Paris, and am finally putting it to good use as a backdrop to listings in both my shops. I just love it.

About

Hobo Cameo: A micro boutique of fun, useful and beautiful wares.

I've always been into vintage, but, I didn't always sell vintage wares. I didn't sell anything until I got into making artists books. Before all that, I was a seamstress for designers for nearly 20 years. I went back to college as a mature student and did a degree in Interior Design and then produced my second child straight after, in 2001. New career didn't pan out!
My mum inspired me to start doing altered books, and it took off from there. I did my first fair at The London Artists Book Fair in 2005. (You can see a few vestiges of that foray into artists books in my other Etsy shop, © leslieworks, and here: http://www.leslieworks.co.uk) Things continued in that vein for a number of years, with lots of book arts projects, fairs and exhibitions, and I then branched out into textile crafts, and then vintage.
Art Junky in Brighton got me started into selling vintage, because I could mix my hand mades with vintage collectibles. Over time, I started doing more and more vintage markets and fairs, and less crafty ones.
In 2011, I started my own market, The Dandy Lion Market, which ran monthly for over 4 years. It was a wonderful place for art, craft and vintage and it was my baby, a labour of love. It came to an unhappy halt, and to make a long story short, I decided to recharge my Etsy shop, and focus on selling here.
This is now my new labour of love! The hard work is paying off and I'm seeing lots of lovely new customers and sales. I am happy here, and happy to be of service to you. I hope you enjoy your visit!

Vintage is my passion, when I'm not creating and making. I inherited my mum's love for finding old things, sprucing them up and mixing them with modern art and ethnic pieces. A microcosm of this same free spirit in one little shop!

Shop policies

Last updated on August 20, 2016
I am passionate about vintage, and I love creating and making. Preloved, vintage and antique materials and objects have a charm and quality often lacking in the brand new. Wherever possible, I incorporate recycled elements into my art and crafts, and my vintage finds are mended, washed, and spruced up to be at their best. Occasionally, I will leave an item as it is, if it adds to its story and beauty.

Payment
Paypal please. I normally package items very soon after I receive the order, and purchase online postage. Items are despatched within a day or 2. You may cancel your order only if I haven't already purchased postage, as postage is order specific and can't be used again. For refunds, see policy below.
Shipping
I now ship worldwide. I aim to provide the most economical, but also quickest and safest mode of delivery. Sorry this is all so long-winded, but I want to keep this a happy shopping experience for everyone.

Weights of items in listings are before packing. I don't pack the items in advance in case their is a multiple purchase. So, it is hard to guess the final weight after packing, as each item, or combination of items requires different sizes of boxes and different amounts of packing materials. For instance a large glass or pottery piece will require a lot of protective wrapping to ensure safe transit and arrival.

I only charge the bare minimum for P&P based on requirements, to keep the price low for the buyer. Starting at .50p up to £2.50 for large fragile items, as it take a lot of time and materials to package things carefully, to ensure safe transit. I use recycled/pre-used packaging whenever possible.

All items have a reduced price as an additional item, so combined postage is automatically calculated when purchasing more than one item. Occasionally actual p&p cost will turn out less, so I will refund if over £1 of what you paid.

Please note the following types of posting I use:

Royal Mail:
*UK letter and large letter sizes: 1st Class with Proof of Posting.
*INTERNATIONAL parcels of all sizes: 1st Class International Standard with Proof of Posting.

Hermes:
*All other UK parcels bigger than large letter size, with a Tracking Number.

*Items of value that exceeds couriers' standard postage cover have had higher postage rate for cover or tracking added.

If in doubt about your order delivery method, PLEASE CONTACT ME.

As there are so many countries to estimate delivery to, occasionally the price might exceed my usual costing. If it is more than £1 over my p&p price I will refund. For overseas buyers, please check with me to get the best postage price, to make sure, particularly if you are making multiple purchases. I am happy to give you a personal postal quote for items you wish to purchase.

Any import customs or taxes imposed upon delivery are the buyer's responsibility.

Please be aware that delivery times/targets are based on those stated by the postal services I use, and I am not responsible for delays caused after I have posted the item. My dispatch policy is 1-3 days, I always receive proof of posting, and after that the delivery time is down to the courier. Most of the time, deliveries happen when they are supposed to. If you want to ensure a set delivery date, please request an upgrade, ie Special Delivery, before purchasing. Even then, delays can occur! Specially for oversees orders, where customs are involved. Please be patient.

I want you to be a happy customer, and I will do my utmost to provide a friendly, speedy and quality shopping experience!
Refunds and Exchanges
As most of my shop items are vintage, they are preowned, and/or used. I endeavour to best describe their condition, and show every angle in my photos. Please make sure to read the description and look closely at the photos.

Each item is unique so I can not offer refunds or exchanges. But, in the event an item purchased is very different from that described, I will accept a return, in the same condition and packaging. Buyer must pay return postage. In the case of loss or damage on route, I will refund based on the value covered in the postage on your order. Please be sure to send photos of anything damaged when making a claim.
Additional policies and FAQs
I welcome any special requests, or custom orders.
If there's something handmade in my shop that you like, but would prefer in a different colour or design, please ask, and I'll do my best to accomodate.
I have a large collection of vintage wares to sell, and am always on the look out for interesting and appealing objects, so will happily try to source something for you.
Thank you for stopping by!
