Cute vintage angel. Bought for Christmas gift. It was a little bigger than I thought it would be.

About

Porcelain angels from the 50's and 60's

Welcome to midcenturyangel! ***PLEASE NOTE: The shop will be closed from May 5-21. The last day to order will be Friday May 4, until the shop reopens. Thank you for your patronage!*** This shop is devoted to the porcelain angels that were made in Japan in the 50's and 60's, and sold in five-and-dime's, Woolworth's, garden shops and even bakeries. They can be figurines, bells, candle holders, planters, Christmas ornaments, or a combination. Please stop by often to see the latest additions, all from my personal and much loved collection. I do ship worldwide -- International buyers, please convo me for a shipping quote!

Aloha and welcome. ***PLEASE NOTE: The shop will be closed from May 5-21. The last day to order will be Friday May 4, until the shop reopens. Thank you for your patronage!*** I hope you love midcentury angels as much as I do! My grandmother gave me many as gifts in the late 50s and early 60s, but I was very young and broke almost all of them. I never forgot them though, and years later, I collected all that I could find. I now offer some of them to new homes. Perhaps yours!

If you have questions which my description and pictures do not answer, please feel free to convo me for further discussion and pictures.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 30 days of delivery
I don't accept cancellations
But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
I do my best to describe and photograph the angels completely and accurately, but if I have not done so, you may return the angel and I will refund both purchase price and shipping costs both ways (to you, and your return to me). You must photograph the angel and send me the picture before shipping back to me, which must be by priority mail so the package is insured if you are returning an angel.

For angels on their way to you, please understand that I can't control handling of the package once it has left me. I do feel that I pack for eternity, but I can't guarantee non-breakage.

Note that if the angel arrives broken, the post office requires you to produce the package and label showing that was insured, as well as the packing that the angel was shipped in before they will pay. [Yes, flying angels in to Hawaii has taught me.]
Payment
I accept payment by Paypal and Etsy checkout.

I am sorry, but I can only reserve angels for established customers. The angels are primarily available on a first-to-pay basis.

Please note that your state may require payment of sales, excise or some other form of tax.
Shipping
I ship via U.S. Postal Service, using Etsy's shipping service or buy postage online to get the cheapest rate. If the packages are light enough, I offer First Class mail, but anything over 16 ounces must go Priority Mail. Priority Mail costs are the same across the country, so you are not paying more for that postage because I live in Hawaii. I usually use USPS boxes and etsy provides tracking so we can both track the package.

When I ship First Class, I pack with the same care that I pack Priority Mail packages.

USPS now automatically insures packages, free up to $50 value. They require additional payment over $50 value. [Please see refund policy, above, for more about insurance.]

I ship within 48 hours of your purchase. I pack extremely well, using lots of bubble wrap and tissue paper, because I know how it feels to receive a broken angel. I don't want to disappoint you!

I can ship to some international destinations. Please convo me BEFORE PURCHASING so I can research your destination of choice. I will regret it as much as you do if I am unable to ship to your international address.
Additional policies and FAQs
As these are vintage items, there are no guarantees associated with them.

I do appreciate your feedback, and regret that there is no way for me to leave feedback about you.
