About

Our Journey to Here.

Hi! Welcome to our shop! Our names are Jaedyn & Tara, and we are so glad that you stopped by to have a peek at our shop!

Our yarn journey starts quite a ways back. We were both taught to knit and crochet at a young age by our grandmother, and as children are, we didn't have much use for it. As adults, we have both remembered our crafty roots, and both picked it up in full force after our children were born.

Tara is primarily a crocheter - even starting her own business as a crochet designer, along with her friend Kim. Together, they are the duo behind KnotSewCute Designs, and have many patterns to pick from! While it's crochet that has her heart, she has been dabbling in knitting recently, and has discovered a new love for the craft. It helps her unwind when she can't turn off the crochet designer part of herself.

Jaedyn started out as a crocheter, and did it for a few years, but knit patterns kept calling to her. Having no one to teach her, she turned to online video tutorials, and taught herself to knit. Since then, she has been completely addicted, and doesn't let uncertainty or skill level hold her back. The best way to learn is to learn from your mistakes, so she tends to jump in with both feet, and with a lot of enthusiasm! She also owns another Etsy shop (LittlePrairiePurl), where she sells project bags and knitting related gift tags, and also has a podcast on YouTube called "Purl Up & Dye".

As yarn crafters, we've used a lot of yarn! We believe all yarn has a spot, and a place. We will use acrylic, cotton, wool - you name it! But it was indie dyed yarn that truly grabbed our attention. After splurging on a few (ahem... many) skeins of hand dyed yarn, we started to look for specific colors, and started dreaming of yarn colorways that we couldn't find. So we started to wonder if we could dye our own... and down the rabbit hole we went.

We hope that you love the yarn we create. Each skein is carefully handled, watched and loved. Almost like each one is a small little part of ourselves that we gift to you. We absolutely love this adventure, and are so excited to have you along for the ride with us!

Your friends,
Jaedyn & Tara

Frequently asked questions
When Will My Order Arrive?

Woohoo! You made a purchase, and now for the hard part - the wait! How long do you have to stalk the mailman?

We ship twice a week, within 3-5 business days of your order.

We ship from Canada, and getting across the country, crossing the border or crossing an ocean takes time. Shipping times are estimated below:

CANADA: 1 - 2 weeks

INTERNATIONAL:
After much consideration, and much frustration on our part & our customers, we have decided to stop offering International Shipping as a whole. That said, you are more than welcome to sen

I Changed My Mind, Can I Return It?

As a general rule, we don't want you to return your yarn - we want you to love it! We try to be very thorough in our listings, so you know what you are ordering.

If there is something wrong with your order, please contact us with any concerns you may have within 5 - 7 days of receiving it. We are more than willing to discuss any issues you have. Returns will be considered on a case-to-case basis.

That said, we will NOT accept any returns if the yarn is not in resalable condition. It must return to us as carefully as it was sent to you - sealed in a clear bag and placed in an envelope. Returns will be at the expense of the buyer. If we are able to accept the return, we will refund the price of the yarn only.

Can I Order a Custom Color?

We love our customers, and get so much inspiration from seeing others projects and color choices!

At this time, though, we are not taking custom orders for brand new colorways. We are very busy trying to get some of the colors out of our own heads and onto yarn and into the shop!

If we have offered a colorway in the past and is currently sold out, please do send us a message! We'd be happy to dye some up for you on our next dye day.

Why Is My Yarn FLAT?

Shipping is very expensive within Canada. To ship a skein of yarn, it literally costs less to ship as an Expedited parcel than to ship it as a regular parcel. We almost passed out when we found out that 1 skein can cost up to $17 to ship to QC (and about the same to NFLD, ON & BC)!!

So to offer you affordable shipping, we are using Canada Posts "Oversize Lettermail" option, which costs considerably less. In order for the yarn to slip through the SLOT OF DOOM, we have to vacuum seal the yarn, which mean we have to get the yarn as flat as possible - and this means we untwist the yarn.

If you would rather get a twisted skein (not flat) package, we can send it for an additional cost - just choose Expedited package for shipping - your choice!
