About mijamostore

Jenna Holton is a textile artist and illustrator who moved to and fell in love with Finland and makes art about the nature around them.

Hi, I’m Jenna! I am an artist that fell in love with the Finnish landscape, both big and small, and decided to make art about it. I use Otus, the little creature you’ll find on most products and art, to explore places that we as humans cannot.

I decided to start a sustainable art and design business, because I wanted to make a living through my art, but not cause negative impacts to the environment. I do this through mijamo by:

- Making all products and packaging completely plastic-free

- Recycling or reusing over 90% of the waste that mijamo makes through manufacture

- Using 100% renewable energy in the mijamo studio

- Only sourcing materials from European companies that have environmental policies in place to cut down on any transit emissions and indirect environmental effects

- Posting weekly tips on how to live responsibly through lifestyle changes, and direct and political climate action like protesting, picking up litter, starting neighborhood groups, buying less, etc.

As a company, we are always learning and evolving to be more sustainable, so please grow with us, too, as we work together to make the world a better place.

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

All of our textile products are made with 100% linen and cotton fabrics, so most are safe to machine wash, however machine dryers will damage the linens over time, so please always hang our products to dry.

Linen is also very sensitive to chemicals, so please never use bleach or abrasive cleaners to wash them.

Our CE-marked Otus doll is made with 100% wool stuffing, so it is more prone to felting than dolls filled with plastic polyester filling. Because of this, please handwash it gently with detergent that is made for wool in cool water, then hang upside down to dry.

Any art piece (flat or 3-D) or art print will fade over time if exposed to sun. Make sure to display artwork and prints away from direct sunlight to prolong their lifespan.
