Why I moved to the country.
Rescuing and Rehoming Cool Old Stuff One Piece at a Time
As a child I day dreamed of living in the country with flowers, vegetable gardens and critters, inspired by my grandmother who single-handedly ran a modest farm. Somehow I got side tracked with a career in higher education and family life in the city.
When the kiddos left home I decided it was now or never, so my husband and I moved to a small, 200 year old farm house in rural Ohio. Now in addition to tending the gardens and a few hens (plus three dogs), I am able to pursue my other passion--rescuing and finding new homes for one of a kind antique and vintage items.
I'm constantly searching for interesting and unique items for the shop, usually at local farm auctions and sales. I'm especially attracted to old wooden primitives, rusty metal and iron, and handmade vintage cotton quilts. I love the mix of creativity, business, and opportunity to meet new and interesting people that having an Etsy shop affords me!
