Leather bags for the long haul
I started making leather bags when I couldn't find the one I wanted to carry. When I received enough compliments on my first hand stitched bag, I realized I might be on to something and Mill & Bird was born.
When I started Mill & Bird, I hand stitched each bag using traditional leather working techniques. A few hundred bags later, I transitioned bag construction to a North Carolina manufacturer with over 25 years of experience sewing leather.
Mill & Bird has evolved into a collection of chic, understated leather bags designed for everyday use. My bags are classic yet modern, simple yet functional, sturdy yet polished.
I like leather that actually looks like leather - scars, marks and all. I strive to showcase the natural beauty of leather in all of my designs.
Mill & Bird bags are made in the USA, featuring leather from some of the finest tanneries in the US. I'm proud to be part of the growing movement to support US manufacturing.
Thanks for checking out my shop!

NC-based leather goods manufacturer
North Carolina, United States
Mill & Bird uses a NC-based leather goods manufacturer to cut and sew bags. We couldn't be happier with the work and dedication they put into each bag.
While I started my business designing and hand stitching each bag, I've recently transitioned to having bags manufactured right here in my own backyard. I design each bag and hand select the leather for it. I also hand stitch each prototype to determine if a design should be put into production. Once a design has been finalized, I turn the cutting and sewing over to a NC-based manufacturer with over 25 years of experience working with leather. The result of this process is a beautiful bag with enduring style, materials and construction made right here in the good 'ole USA.
