What an amazing artist!! I have 2 pieces so far and look forward to more. Very professional with communication, and the art work leaves me speechless with the detail.

About

My Process

First of all, I'm just glad to be an Etsy-ian! (or is that Etsian? Someone may have to correct me on that one). Every shop breathes its own unique creativity, which just fosters an atmosphere where art is continually being inspired.
My process begins with a thought, a concept, or just an emotion. The joy and the challenge is getting that thought or raw emotion, from my heart, onto the canvas or surface I'm using. Most of my work is symbolic, so I tend to deal in an abstract realism: A perfect example being "Tears in a Vase", seen in the 4th picture above. I usually start with a pencil sketch or small practice painting, and since I'm painting imaginary people, the question I usually ask myself is, "what form or thing will best convey what I'm feeling in my heart?" After I flesh that out I begin the painting.
During the painting process, something often happens to me that most artists or creators can relate to, and that is the errant stroke. I'll be going along and make an unintended mark or turn in my work; though not always irreversible, it forces me to decide how I will proceed next. I've found these strokes to be some of the best moments of serendipity. A mistake on the surface, they often lead me in a direction that add meaning to my work that I never saw in the beginning.
This is the nature of creativity--the fact that you can't control every aspect of it; if you could, you would prevent something new from emerging, giving you something better than what you originally intended.
Thanks for visiting my shop, and I hope that the art, words, or just the collective strokes inspire you in your own creative process as a viewer.

A fine artist from Dallas,Tx; oil paint, acrylics, and color pencil are the media for my imagination. The human form, as well as many others, are the vehicles that bring that imagination to life.
