About Mini Me Crafts
In 2010, MiniMeCrafts.Com (MMCC) was born in a dream of sleep. As a veteran teacher, scout leader, and mom, I spent lots of time in craft, discount, and grocery stores looking for the materials I needed to create and conduct laboratories, activities, crafts, and party favors with my students, scouts, and daughter and her friends. With lots of original ideas for projects with youth, I was often in search of low-cost, high-quality materials.
In my searches, I ran into the following obstacles:
1) store (brick-and-mortar or on-line) had one material, but not another; 2) store had material, but not enough; 3) store had material but more than needed in its smallest packaging; 4) on-line store had material but shipping and “handling” charges made the material cost-prohibitive; 5) on-line store has material but could not send in time for project; 6) even when all materials were finally located and acquired, preparation was time consuming and leftover materials often had no use.
Most of the money for my classroom, troop, and personal projects came from the family budget. I couldn't possibly be the only person wasting limited money and precious time in search of materials. The bottom line, why not market my own ideas, in the form of individual party favors, gifts, and craft kits to like-minded teachers, leaders, and parents?
My dream of sleep has grown into a new personal challenge and creative outlet. As if I wasn’t busy enough with all the hats I wear, I’ve now added “business woman” to my daily roles and responsibilities. However, I do so happily. My products include all the materials necessary to complete the project with no wasted trips and no unused leftovers. In addition, materials are prepped, sorted, and packaged for individual use, as a service to my customers.
Why the Name? Well, the answer to this question may be obvious after viewing the photo on my home page, but here is some additional background. My daughter, Samantha, looks a great deal like a younger (much younger!) version of me. When she was born, my husband wondered if any of his genetic material went into her creation! Samantha has always looked just like her momma, but she has so many great qualities of her father, like his artistic talent and easy-going nature. We hear it all the time. “Your daughter looks just like you!” She is certainly my “mini me” in looks and in her love for crafting. Mini Me Crafts came to me in a dream, and I never even thought about using another name for my crafting business. Samantha is my champion, product tester, and model. She also happens to be the best daughter for which a mother could ever ask!
Hello! Welcome to Mini Me Crafts! My name is Elizabeth, and I am a teacher, scout leader, business woman, and mom. Needless to say, I wear lots of hats, but I love them all!

Frequently asked questions
Can you handle custom requests?
Absolutely! We love taking your theme and bringing it to life! Just use the "Request a Custom Order" button on the shop homepage or any product page to let us know what you have in mind. You can also contact us directly.
Are all your products home-made?
We use a combination of home-made pieces and specially selected products to make our party favors, gifts, and craft kits one-of-a-kind.
Where do you get all your ideas?
I come from a family of crafters. I guess crafting is in my blood! I have also gained lots of new skills from my years of teaching, scouting, and parenting.
I like a product, but I would like to make some changes? Is that possible?
Yes! Just use the "Request a Custom Order" button on the shop homepage or any product page to let us know what you have in mind. You can also contact us directly.
What is the recommended age range for your craft kits?
What is the recommended age range for your craft kits?
Most of our kits are suitable for kids age 5 to 105. However, it is best to base your ordering on the skill and maturity level of your child or group of children. Some projects may be frustrating for little hands, and some may require additional adult helpers. Always keep small pieces away from children under 5 years of age to prevent accidental choking.
Do you sell additional supplies that are needed to complete your craft kits?
We don't include some supplies (like scissors and glue) with our craft kit orders because most people already have these supplies on hand. We don't want our customers to be forced to purchase supplies they already have. If there is something you need, please contact us. We'll see what we can do!
Because a number of our SWAP kits require round-nose pliers, we do currently sell these on our site. Just look in the "Scout SWAPs & More" section or search our site for "pliers."
We will continue to add special supplies as needed to make crafting as easy and fun as possible for our customers!
What are SWAPs?
SWAPs are just crafts with a pin. The acronym, SWAP(s), stands for Something With A Pin or Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere. SWAPs are small, hand-made crafts that are traded between scouts.
The best SWAPs are scout-made and come with a personalized tags that identify the event, date, location and/or purpose of the SWAP. SWAPs should also include a safety pin or pin-back. Scouts pin SWAPs on hats or hand-crafted SWAP holders.
Are SWAPs just for Girl Scouts?
SWAPs aren’t just for trading, and they aren’t just for scouts. SWAPs make great party favors, classroom crafts, event giveaways, recognition awards, wearable pins, and decorative nametags. Adults also SWAP within art and craft groups, via pen pal swapping sites, and as part of letterboxing and geocaching. In short, anyone can SWAP!
Can I purchase a specific number of SWAP Kits?
Sure! Just send us a custom order request, and we'll create a custom order for the exact number of kits you wish to purchase.
