What is the recommended age range for your craft kits?
Most of our kits are suitable for kids age 5 to 105. However, it is best to base your ordering on the skill and maturity level of your child or group of children. Some projects may be frustrating for little hands, and some may require additional adult helpers. Always keep small pieces away from children under 5 years of age to prevent accidental choking.

We don't include some supplies (like scissors and glue) with our craft kit orders because most people already have these supplies on hand. We don't want our customers to be forced to purchase supplies they already have. If there is something you need, please contact us. We'll see what we can do!

Because a number of our SWAP kits require round-nose pliers, we do currently sell these on our site. Just look in the "Scout SWAPs & More" section or search our site for "pliers."

SWAPs are just crafts with a pin. The acronym, SWAP(s), stands for Something With A Pin or Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere. SWAPs are small, hand-made crafts that are traded between scouts.

The best SWAPs are scout-made and come with a personalized tags that identify the event, date, location and/or purpose of the SWAP. SWAPs should also include a safety pin or pin-back. Scouts pin SWAPs on hats or hand-crafted SWAP holders.

SWAPs aren’t just for trading, and they aren’t just for scouts. SWAPs make great party favors, classroom crafts, event giveaways, recognition awards, wearable pins, and decorative nametags. Adults also SWAP within art and craft groups, via pen pal swapping sites, and as part of letterboxing and geocaching. In short, anyone can SWAP!
